JW Walsh...

Vince is an interesting case. It required a major benching to get his attention. He had a good year and if he makes the next 5 Pro Bowls in a row (random amount) then I'd say he's moving on up... but elite to me is more than a starter... it's consistency over a long period of time. It could even include people like Donavan McNabb... it doesn't have to be a Manning or a Brady.

quite the moving goalpost that you have there.

i'd say, given the past 8-10 years, texas' O has significantly relied on QB performance...and the QBs, for the most part, have performed.

Does it count that (Ou's) Paul Thompsen got a shot in Green Bay's NFL camp 2002 and that Jason White from SlowU ran a 4.90 and a 4.91 in the 40 'unofficially' in the 2005 NFL combine? I wonder what his 'official' time was??

I'll let you decide...

Until the fairly recent past Texas did not run an offense that used NFL skills at the qb position. In the last 10 yrs Texas has produced 4 qb's that would be considered on draft day. As of next season, 3 will be on current NFL rosters. Not many teams can top that other than USC....
