Just renewed season tix

Since we know alot of dead people will be renewing thier tickets in the next few days, is there still time for them to vote in the Texas Democratic Primary? I am pretty sure that they are still counting the caucus votes. Just a thought.

Just a word of caution. I went to renew mine online, and while my original four tickets were there, the new seating I donated for was not. I called and they said that I would need to wait until the paper renewals came out to get everything done correctly.

Crap - my four are up to $1540 + $380 for OU tix = $1920. Damn, they had better upgrade the competition in those games at those costs.

I whole expect to be screwed this year on tickets. I have 7 tickets and they were all in section 8.

So last year I was displaced by construction, which was a surprise to me, but I dealt with it. Though I had a strange spread, 1 in section 8, 6 in the NEZ.

This year, I get the renewal E-Mail. I head to TBO.com, my online form only has 1 ticket listed, and worse, the form won't let me change the number of season ticket packages from 1 to anything else. I called TBO to renew tickets, and they show 7 tickets on their computers, so they said I can renew the 7 tickets there.

But I have a really bad feeling now. Why do I think LHF and TBO found a way to jack me and leave me in the NEZ?

Puddle/Cruiser,

I called the Longhorn Foundation and talked to a guy named Chris. He checked and called me back to say that the tickets were in my account and that I could sign up for my usual four tickets. Below that is a section to sign up for additional season tickets @$385. Chris told me to use that section to buy the new seats. To be safe, I put a comment in the section about the chairbacks and their confirmation email includes the comments you make.

Hope that helps...oh, I hope the information I got was correct

Edit: rblancarte, the same might apply to you. If you've donated to get the season tickets, you can probably call the Longhorn Foundation to verify everything.

so i'm a newbie at this... bought my NEZ tickets and was just talking to a friend. can you buy more OU tickets than I have for home games?

...and I think you can only 'buy' (ie get if your donation is high enough) up to 4 OU tix, even if you have more than 4 season tix...

I'm not sure about the OU ticket limitation. This is the first year that I have had more than four season tickets. That said, the ticket renewal didn't prevent me from ordering six OU tickets to go with the six season tickets. Of course, Belmont is well known for taking money and holding it for six months only to refund it...so I guess we'll see come late September.

You can request one OU ticket for each season ticket you have, but you only get priority on four.

The Texas Sports website is confusing. It says patrons cannot request additional season tickets for 2008 due to construction in the north end zone. Then in the next paragraph, it says "in 2008, current patrons may add season tickets to their order."

What the hell does that mean?

What is the typical way they handle extra individual game tickets? I see on teh renewal form you can order away game tickets, but what about if you want another pair or two for the A&M game?

You can't order extra individual game tickets for home games. If the game is not an immediate sell-out, you will be able to buy additional tickets from Texas Box Office, but you cannot buy them with your season tickets.

I guess they figure that if you're ordering extra tickets, you're trying to get seats adjacent or at least very near the ones you already have, which they can't do because those seats belong to someone else. I don't think they're looking at it from a standpoint of wanting to buy extra tickets for friends willing to sit anywhere in the stadium who may not be able to get tickets otherwise. The renewal e-mail I got specifically said that this policy was due to "high demand for season tickets."

As for the paper renewal applications, they will be mailed starting May 12, but the May 30 priority deadline still applies.

Just renewed ours. I told them it would be OK if they moved us closer to the 50 yard line.

Yeah, silly of the athletic department not to offer additional single game tickets to season ticket holders.

1) You are guaranteed that more actual Longhorn fans get the tickets (as opposed to opposing fans)

2) You make it somewhat more difficult for the scalpers/brokers - a public onsale for the big home UT games are going to get assaulted by brokers.

3) You hold onto people's money for an extra 3-4 months and earn interest off of it (kinda crappy from a customer's standpoint, but a good business move).

4) You have a decent idea of what games will be in super high demand and which ones won't, allowing you to do different marketing on the lesser desired games.

Just no real good reason NOT to do this. Most every other school does it.

Geez. UT does the ticket renewals thing much later than does A&M. Season ticket applications/renewals went out from the 12th Man Foundation at the end of December/beginning of January.

For once I must confess that I'm a bigger fan of the "burnt orange way" of doing something.

In the future, I think they may let people buy additional tickets for home games, but I think the real reason this year is because, with the expansion, they want to sell more season tickets, and they can't do that if they're selling individual game tickets to season ticket holders during the renewal period.

In the past, I believe they have allotted 60,000 seats or so for season ticket holders, with the rest going to student season tickets, the student draw, and the general public. But I would imagine that with capacity expanding this season, they want to see how many new season ticket orders they get before they open up sales of individual game tickets.

Its actually about the same. A&M just gets their info out to people earlier. Season ticket payment wasn't due until a week or so ago, and donations to 12th Man weren't due in sometime in March (same time the UT donations were due).
