Just got CoD4

Thanks super, I never thought about the differential in IL and DI before. I just always need that extra second or so to line up my shot.

I was really averse to the ACOG until I slapped one on my SAW over the weekend, just to see what would happen. I mopped up on Creek with it first time when we played a team with no snipers and no apparent game plan. Once we got up against a little bit better competition I had fewer kills but still did better than normal. I love that thing now, only on med to long maps though.

I'll slap one on my M40 tonight to see how it goes.

Thanks Mandingo for the suggestions re:silencer. I just went 4th level prestige and currently have nothing but the basics. If I pick any gun for the silencer its either the M4 or the MP5. As with you. Stopping power always! Still primarily use the M16 at early stages of prestige change. I can always rely on it except sometimes on smaller maps like vacant because all the SMG's and LMG's are better in closed areas.

Sorry mandingo, I wasn't very clear. I'm talking about on the Opfor end, bottom of the hill, inside the building that looks straight up at the Marine end.

Eh...I dunno... after reading your post again, it seems pretty clear. My reading comp was down that night maybe, er somethin.

At any rate, thanks for the info!

xbox live's servers are ******* up tonight...been trying to play headquarters for the last 30 minutes...keeps putting me on free-for-all and team deathmatch...the people in those games are having the same problem

Weird. I played for hours & never had any problem except for the incredibly high level of play and a particularly bad trash-talking spawn jumper named StrangeDawg. Jumped my spawn alone at least 6-7 times in one game on Crossfire. I spawned with bullets flying at my head. Assface.

Couldn't win a single game.

This afternoon was great. But it was tough tonight.

Has anybody tried the Battlefield: Bad Company demo? The reason I asked on the COD4 post is because I did try it and didn't find in near as enjoyable as the COD4 multiplayer. Your thoughts if you've tried it?

Tried yesterday and will try it again this evening. The visuals are good, but more hazy? (it kind of reminded me of Brothers in Arms games during or after a rain) I found it really hard to see opfors and threats. Could just be my TV but I'm playing on a 52" HD unit and have no probs on CoD4.

The sound was excellent though. The reverb when firing indoors seemed a little much, but then I've never really fired an M4 inside a stone walled house so what do I know. I did like the music option, it was kind of nice to have the radio but then it also kind of became distracting.

Also, the weapons and team AI seemed less responsive. But it also could have been that I'm so used to CoD that the controller layout could've been throwing me off.

I didn't try the multiplayer, just single so I can't comment on that part. I'm not sure this'll replace CoD4...

How's that for an inconcise and inconclusive comment?

has this happened to anybody? Called in a chopper on Crash and it just hovered over te map without firing a single shot! WTF?? I've never seen that happen before.

Having said that, COD4 still feels much better than BF: Bad Company.
