Republicans need to move on from the Hunter Biden story. It just isn't making a difference to the Dems, much like Trump's numbers are climbing daily even though he is under investigations, and has been impeached 3x.
People don't care. Either they can't make the connection, or they think it is disinformation, or they just don't give a rat's a**. (Republicans made a mistake from the jump branding it "Hunter Biden's laptop. They should have called it the Biden family laptop. or some other name that encompassed the whole Biden gang.)
Put the focus on things that people DO care about, like inflation, the border, and not going nuts on stupid green energy ideas that make no sense or difference. Quality education for students, and regaining our standing in the world again.
Meat and potatoes.
This whole thing reminds me of a Jerry Seinfeld comedy bit about liking football.
The gist of it was, you are really cheering for uniforms, not the players that wear them. And, (unless the are a UT graduate, in my case), he's right.
"Oh, you're a Dallas Cowboy! Huge fan!"
"Oh, you've been traded to Washington? I hope you drop every ball they throw to you" It amazes me how I can switch so quickly.
And sadly, this is where we are with are politicians of today. We are cheering for suits, not the men inside them. They are either on your team, or not. There is no in-between, or voting across your label to vote for the "other team" with a better candidate. I don't think JFK or Obama would have won in these times.
Of course, as of now, there are no better candidates on the Dem side, but we have some good, fresh faces on the Republican side. But there isn't a chance in the world that any Dem would cross lines and root for the other uniform.
They would vote for an 82 year old, babbling mess instead because he is on their team.
