According to the Allstate predictor on sportscenter, Georgia still has a better chance than Texas of making the playoff this evening so who knows. That would be the biggest travesty of all even more than Alabama getting in over Texas in spite of the head to head. Urban Meyer had the best answer of all in the Fox post game that if Alabama gets in over Texas no one will ever schedule an out of conference big game again.

This. If Bama gets in over us we should just cancel our future games with meatchicken and tosu and schedule Lamar and Sam Houston. What’s the point of marquee games or sos if those don’t matter.

If the Committee values conference championships like I keep hearing they do, I don't see how they could choose a non champion who lost to the conference champion that Texas (conference champion) beat. Put another way, I don't see how they could choose a non champ over two conference champs.

If the Blue hairs at the committee put Bama over Texas or for that matter Bama = Dangerous precedent!!!!
 
There is simply “no logical and objective argument” to keep Texas out. Again, I said logical.

The decision will be among three teams, Texas, Alabama and FSU.

FSU - No one believes that they are one of the top four teams, so they only get in because “it’s the right thing to do,” and they are an undefeated CCG.

Alabama - They deserve to get him because they beat the # 1 team and they won their CCG.

Texas - We won our CCG, we’re clearly a hot team — one of the four best — and we beat Alabama, at their home and by double-digits. No one can argue these points.

There are no “logical arguments” that support Alabama or Georgia getting in over Texas.

“An SEC team must make the playoffs.” This is emotional, not logical.

“Alabama must get in because they beat Georgia.” This argument is defeated by the fact that they lost to Texas, at home.

“Alabama lost to Texas in September, but they’re a much better team now.” That might’ve been a reasonable argument three weeks ago. But after what we’ve seen Texas do the last two weeks, and the near debacle at Auburn, this argument is no longer valid.

“Georgia has been the number one team most of the year. They deserve to be in.” Again, emotional, not logical.

So, I’m not aware of a reasonable or logical argument, that would keep Texas out of the CFP.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see. It would have been set already if Georgia and Louisville had won.
 
There are no mental gymnastics than can be done to put Alabama above Texas.

If Alabama gets in over us, then it means the SEC leadership pulled some political **** to screw us over, and at that point I would reconsider if we wanted to join a conference that would screw over a new member like that.

I invoke the TCU/Cincinnati mandate to exclude FSU in the CFP.
Who’s better than FSU- yes Wash and Michigan…and
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Ohio State
5 Oregon
6. OU Is IMO

Agree, i was watching the college football preranking show this morning and Dan Orvlosky was arguing that bama and Georgia were better than Texas :brickwall:

Real simple exercise, if Quinn Ewers, Xavier Worthy, JT Sanders and Adonai Mitchell were on Georgia's team last night, do you think Georgia wins the game? If you are like me, you're like "oh yeah, Georgia would have won". Well guess what? Quinn Ewers, Xavier Worthy, JT and Adonai Mitchell are on Texas' team and if they all played to "Prove it" yet again the result would be the same, Texas would come out on top of both Alabama AND Georgia!!!

Unbelievable that people can argue after an actual result on the field that the losing team is better. :facepalm:

If 2008 taught us anything its that you never put your faith in actual head to head because if they dont want you they will come up with something anything to keep you out and that means its always about the beauty contest which scares the heck out of me and will for next hour plus.
