Yes, people tend to forget how good Heard was/is. On the other hand, there are some who think that rivals has under-ranked Kyler Murray a whole lot, purely because of his height/size. Maybe it makes sense while rating somebody for NFL, but in college, especially for certain type of offenses, Kyler has tremendous abilities. So, others rank him in the top-30. Most will argue that he is a bit better than Heard. Kyler is certainly a more polished passer than Heard, coming out of school, and more elusive as a runner too, but Jerrod has the same 40 yard time and has the same winners' instincts.

But I agree with the point you may be making, that it is rather stupid to feel that we just lost our whole future. Because we have a guy who has a damn good record and abilities too, who will be just about ready to go, come this fall. Jerrod F'n Heard. Let's go horns!

Need one more backup for him though. If Kai Locksley flips, I will be perfectly happy now.

A guest on "The Horn" said that after being criticized for his lack of arm strength, Heard has been killing it in the weight room. Can now clean and press 235 lbs. That's a lot.

Heard has a year at UT already and would have started anyway. Just stay healthy.

Yes I believe Heard is the guy no matter who we ended up recruiting for next season. He will earn it and then it's up to him if he keeps it or not. Hopefully he really shines on game days.
