Jaquizz Rogers

They said only Texas STATE recruited him down here.

Such sick talent down here. It's really pathetic Aggy can do nothing with the the goldmine of FB talent they live around.

Texas has so much talent they can send guys like that off to schools like Oregon State and still run all over USC. I'm happy for the guy.

However, it reminded me of an afternoon when another running back about that size ran all over Texas for 6 touchdowns in the Cotton Bowl... ugh!...

Wow, imagine Baylor's young freshmen if they could've snagged Rodgers too. Griffin, Wright, and Rodgers would have made that offense explosive.

I stood next to Rodgers during the state championship. He is no more than 5'5", unless he has grown since December. His thighs are humongous, though.

He and Griffin (Lamar Consolidated vs. Copperas Cove) played against each other for the 4A-Division 1 title.

If we had recruited him, he would have red-shirted this year and maybe received a little playing time after OU next year. Probably would have been unsuccessful in our east-west running offense.

It was fun to watch him run into a mountain of people and emerge on the other side all night long. I was like WTF!?!? half the time, but mostly because the sideline camera angle couldn't show the tiny holes he was exploiting.

His O line didn't open massive holes for him, but he took advantage of every crease. I wonder what his YAC was...

I hope Mack and Greg saw the game. Anyway they've been better about playing freshmen this year.

Quizz is from my alma mater. Dude was on varsity his freshman year. All time record holder for rushing TD's in Texas. Dude is Barry Sanders, Jr. America got introduced to Quizz real quick. He is the real deal. His brother is just as raw, and when you have an uncle who is a former Pro-Bowler (Michael Lewis, Eagles/49ers), you have no choice but to be successful when you are following in those footsteps.

Agreed, he was a joy to watch.

He completely deflated the USC defense. By the time they realized they were in a dogfight, it was too late, as Rodgers had hit a groove and had his teammates believing.

This dude could tear it up in our offense. OSU got quite a coupe in recruiting this kid. His brother seems to have some potential too.

We're far from the only school that missed on this kid, and I realize there are legitimate concerns about his size, but he looked better than any RB we have on our team. Runs north-south, hits the hole quickly, great vision, and deceptive power. They ran him 38 times so it's not like USC didn't know he was getting the ball, and say what you want about their performance last night but USC is far better defensively than any team we've played. We really need Fozzy back.

We never offered him due to his size. Playmakers are playmakers no matter what their size is. Look at Holliday from LSU. Also Lance Z. on 1560 The Game in Houston said the Aggie coaching staff loved Quizz, but Dennis Frachione couldn't get over his height and decided not to offer him.

I read an article about him a year ago and it said that he was already on board very early with OSU because of his brother and so most schools did not make an effort.

In defense of USC, their defense is set up to play games where the other team is trying to catch up----because SC is usually ahead early and scores a lot. So they don't practice a lot on teams that run right at them because hardly anybody is likely to.

Sort of like teams that haven't seen a spread offense all year and then play Tech in a bowl game. They are not well prepared for what they see and if it works, as OSU's running game between the tackles did last night, it is a real problem.

USC did a good job of adjusting at half time but they had to play catch up and OSU was obviously prepared to take on the SC passing attack. They knew in advance they were going to see it.

An unfortunate loss for the Trojans but good for everybody else.

From the endzone views they all too rarely showed it seemed to me
the guy made remarkably accurate reads with every dart/cut thru the
VERY small holes. If you watched he cut exactly how he needed to so
as to take advantage of some marginally good blocks. It was amazing,
just made me miss Ramonce all the more and again wonder why so
many times I watch our backs and think "if he had just cut right, not
left, he had about 5 more yards at least".
