It smacks of aggy to say that any kid who backs out of a commitment to UT is getting paid. Maybe Johnson likes Oregon's unis, maybe he sees himself fitting in better with their offense, maybe our QB problems worry him...
The thing is, as good as Johnson apparently is, he's not one of the players who makes or breaks this class. There is still time to find a slot receiver that can pretty much do what Johnson does, and there are receivers out there, committed to other schools but interested in UT.
This also sounds like a double standard if we complain about a UT commitment backing out, while our coaches actively pursue some players committed to other schools. It's just how recruiting goes, and you have to accept some losses, without castigating a kid who changes his mind about wearing burnt orange.
I don't particularly wish Johnson good luck wherever he winds up, nor bad luck either.
