It's Official, T. Johnson de-commits...

We've gotten quite a few decomitts. Most notably Chris Simms as well as Major Applewhite, Roy Miller,Jermicheal Finley,Garnet Smith,G.K. Kinne,Trey Bates,Aurmon Satchell,Tyrell Gatewood. Those are off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure there's several more.

It smacks of aggy to say that any kid who backs out of a commitment to UT is getting paid. Maybe Johnson likes Oregon's unis, maybe he sees himself fitting in better with their offense, maybe our QB problems worry him...

The thing is, as good as Johnson apparently is, he's not one of the players who makes or breaks this class. There is still time to find a slot receiver that can pretty much do what Johnson does, and there are receivers out there, committed to other schools but interested in UT.

This also sounds like a double standard if we complain about a UT commitment backing out, while our coaches actively pursue some players committed to other schools. It's just how recruiting goes, and you have to accept some losses, without castigating a kid who changes his mind about wearing burnt orange.

I don't particularly wish Johnson good luck wherever he winds up, nor bad luck either.

Ask Seastrunk how taking the back door into Oregon works out. If that's what this is, may the kid have the same result. If not, then "goodbye."

recruitocosm.fantake.com/2010...or-will-lyles/Good article from Recruitocosm last year on Flenory for anyone that needs to get up to speed. Rumors are he got to LB Anthony Wallace last year who ended up at Oregon. Also a Dallas Skyline kid. Might be a good explanation as to why the staff doesn't plan to pursue DB DeVante Harris.
More on WR Thomas Johnson...turns out he's been talking with Oregon since at least last month and he will be taking his official visit to Eugene this weekend with DB DeVante Harris. He's also looking at visits to Cal, TCU and even Texas A&M.

He tweeted this the day after his visit to Oregon:

I eagerly await your apology coolhorn.
