It is all over for me

Anyone can come.

Now please, don't get all serious on my engagement thread. This should be more like a roast.

Imagine how funny I will look in the yellow chinese outfit with the funny hat bowing.

Congrats HHK.

When kid #1 appears, you may find yourself challenging your assessment of 29-39 as the high* point of your life.

*greatest, not altered state.

Some Loots I get when married:

Chinese Wedding Dowry List

Bride's dowry is mainly interior ornaments or daily necessities. Of course, wealthy parents always have the option of throwing in some real estate or couple of servant girls...

1. 24-carat gold jewelries;

2. 1 pair of chopsticks to indicate "fast son";

3. 2 bowls tied up with red string which is called "sons and grandsons bowls";

4. toilet kettle;

5. bed spread and pillows and quilt embroidered with dragon-phoenix design;

6. scissors and ruler; wallet and belt,

7. sliced candy;

8. tea sets including tea pot, tea cups and tea tray;

9. clothe wrapped together with cypress leaves,

10. lotus seeds,

11. lucky money (Li Shi),

12. dried fruit such as dragon eyes.

Well that was a ****** thing to do to us.

What's next? HG is gay?

Seriously though - your mother in law is far too involved in your life. Keep the pimp hand strong - early and often - with mother in law.

So the girl from NY that we saw pictures of (from behind) way back on the 3:16 board, is she now available? Is she coming to the wedding?

P.S. What about the spider? Does your future wife know about that?

congrats am. I just got back from my honeymoon which was an awesome yet sureal experience. I'm 35 and she is 25 and wants to wait a while to have kids.

Hopefully someday - as you all know getting married and kids is freaking xpensive so I may have to work a few more years if she can't invent somthing like Crocs so I wont have to work.

If you don't mind disclosing . . . how much did you spend on the ring (in U.S. dollars)?

I know there used to be some great threads back in the day about how much to spend on the engagement ring. Horn in NYC (as he was known back then) and suttree were definitely on the high end, like $12-15k range. But that's when he was Horn in NYC, where the Manhattan socialites expected it.

Just curious if you spent less since you're in Hong Kong, or do Chinese women also expect you to spend a lot.

If you don't want to tell us, no biggie. I was just curious.

And congrats dude.

It seems like yesterday when you were telling us about some dirty NYC coke ***** that wanted to be "in the rotation."

in my experience, chinese women expect you to spend a lot.

as a matter of fact, HiHK will likely be spending a lot for the rest of his life.

A day that will live in infamy.
Srysly, congrats, dude.
It's more fun than some of these guys let on. I have an awesome daughter, a sexy wife, and a decent job.
Life could be better, but right now it's pretty damn good.
