Is 'Shawshank' the most watchable movie ever?

Anytime this movie is on I'll watch it. Even if I just watched it a week earlier. It just never gets old to me.

Another one for me is Fargo.

If I stumble across Shawshank on cable, and the movie is just starting, I think to myself, "Crap there goes 2 1/2 hours".

Same goes with Goodfellas. Even the crappy edited version.

Seems like every weekend TNT shows a Cruise flick (Top Gun / Few Good Men / The Firm) that ropes me in. Not a big fan of Cruise of late, but there was a time when he made good flicks.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

I consider it the perfect movie. Script, pacing, soundtrack, acting, storytelling, tone, editing, details, sound, visual images, etc.

Film making at it's finest.

there are so many for me it's not even funny:

Patton
True Grit
Goodfellas
Godfather I / II
Raising Arizona
Big Lebowski
Stripes
Blazing Saddles
Sixteen Candles
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

etc, etc. etc.

I guess I am just different than most folks. I can watch a movie I like at the most 2 or 3 times. After that, I pass over it for something I haven't seen.

Hook em

Several of the ones mentioned here, but I'd like to add

Operation Petticoat
Rio Bravo
El Dorado
High Plains Drifter
