Is it ok for a Texan to have mayo on his burger?

Like everybody else in Texas, I grew up eating my hamburgers with mustard on the bun. But in the last couple of years, I have really started to like mayonnaise instead of mustard on mine.

I couldn't imagine anything else on it.

I usually hate mayo and can't stand it on anything. However, I feel that it is the perfect condiment for anything with bacon on it. Hence, bacon cheeseburgers and BLT's deserve mayo.

Mayo seems to go better with bacon and/or jalapenos. WB is an exception as their mustard is so damn good.

I like just about anything on a burger aside from ketchup.

I grew up with only mustard. All the hamburger joints made them with mustard.

Every now and then I will mix a little BBQ sauce and mustard and toss it on my burger with some grilled onions and grilles jalapenos. Outstanding.

Jalapeno Mayo

mayonnaise
little bit of lime juice
finely chopped jalapeno pepper (seeds and stems removed)
minced garlic
dried crushed oregano or italian seasoning
salt to taste

Mix all the ingredients according to your taste/preference and whisk it all up. makes a great burger mayo.
