Is David Anderson Out at 1530?

I think David Anderson is no longer with 1530 ESPN. He's still on the website and some of the promos haven't been changed. However, the afternoon show changed it's name to "The Drive" and during the "Inside the 40 Acres" report, Sean Adams said "The Drive with Chip and Sean."

Anybody else notice this?
 
yeah, i was wondering that too.

unfortunately, sean & chip suck without anderson. i really don't want to listen to those guys bicker like children about television shows.
 
I don't think he's gone but I could be wrong. I know he was having a hard time speaking because of an illness so that may be the reason he is out.
 
Why all the bagging on the 1530 show? The guys play off each other well and the show is very good. Everyone was heaping praise on them as 1300 went down in flames. I guess when you get to the top of the mountain everyone wants to knock you off.
 
David Anderson has been good at radio for a long time.

What if he went back to 1300 to pair up with Bucky on the morning show.

The 1300 afternoon show is TONS better w/ that jackass gone. Dee actually keeps the sports talk going and the other clown is decent.

I'd rather listen to the 1530 show, but their signal is so ******* weak it's pathetic.

I can't stand David Anderson. Never have.

But when he essentially accused VY of cowardice for falling down before reaching the sideline, I quit listening. Several callers told him that the coaches were signaling him to fall down to save a timeout.
 
Sean Adams is a friend of mine and I used to work with him at Dell before he left to do the sports thing. He knows his sports because he's passionate about it but this is his first radio gig so I think a little seasoning will help. I think he has good takes as well as some inside knowledge.
 
I like Chip and Sean. Chip's voice modulation gets a little annoying (CON-ner ATCH-ley), but I think they work well together.

Anderson is good at moving the show along, but whenever he gives an opinion on sports, he sounds like an old fart that keeps complaining that football has gone downhill ever since they incorporated facemasks.

All-in-all, I like the 1530 afternoon show. Moreso than I liked Chad & Kevin. But Good God, I miss Bucky & Erin.

I really disliked David Anderson. The only way he could relate to any female guest was by evaluating how good looking they were. And his takes on sports were so off-base it annoyed me to no end.
 
I like David Anderson, he is one of the best on local sports radio. But then again, I am over 17, so I may not be qualified to voice an opinion.
 
i should clarify my previous comment - david anderson's experience in radio nicely moderates chip and sean's inexperience.

...but chip and sean are good.

i just wish they would talk about freaking SPORTS during drive time instead of television and rewinding all the good stuff they did in the 3-4pm hour.
 
Chip has terrific hair for radio. I wonder when he's going to go for the Big Boy cut.

I think David Anderson is great.
 
I actually like Sean, but maybe that's because he compliments Dave. Like Bucky and Erin, you had a complete goober and someone who was part way serious.

what happened?

there's not enough radio "talent" in austin to support two sports stations.

only a colossal screw up by 1300's management could squander the rights to every broadcast of UT sports in Austin.

1530's claim to "the only objective sports radio in Austin" is funny - as if the handful of alumni from other areas of the country that just happen to live in Austin and give a **** about sports are going to be sufficient to run an alternative to 1300.
