Is AM closing the gap on UT?

Apparently they have not yet closed the gap...

The gap isn't as big as it used to be. $Bill's made some very good moves in hiring coaches, and aggy's always had the dollars...they just haven't always spent them wisely.

They've won the last two football games, but the field isn't level, as indicated by the all-time record. Still, they've got scoreboard for the last two years, which makes it hard to say they're not improving.

Basketball is much closer to even...aggy's improved under Billy Clyde and the new guy. They're recruiting with anybody right now, and they're a handful for us or anyone else in the Big XII. Baseball over at aggy is good to sometimes very good, but not nearly Texas good.

The overall Texas athletics program is still much better than aggy's, but they are improving...strange as it, and them, may seem.
 
Parity has closed the gap for everyone so that is the main reason the gap has shrunk. Anyone can be beat this day and age. Tech beats aggy every year. Mack has made the changes that were needed for us to win the big 12 again so I think we are headed in the right direction.
 
well the sunshine has been shining on the raccon's *** for 2 years now and i am about to get a sun burn and a case of the red *** myself! They may not have closed the gap as far as talent is concerned, but what difference does it make if they beat your ***? I have to agree with bevo71. We been getting our asses out coached and by Frannie Cakes of all people! The one everyone around here thinks can't tell time. Well gentlemen, he caught us picky our nose 2 years running and a lot was riding on it both times.

True Vol, but the 2 football games are the ones that have given my ulcers their red hue for 2 years and rolaids just doesn't seem to cut it.

Regarding $Bill...from a lifer Husker fan, Texas has always kind of put a burr under his ***. Remember that Nebraska was the only school to vote against partial qualifiers, and as I recall was one of the only schools to vote against the conference championship.

So he's in a perfect place...amongst a fanbase where his jealousy of Texas can be heard. Moreover, he will do anything and everything to beat Texas because he holds a grudge against them from his days at Nebraska.

I hated the jealousy he exuded towards UT while he was here and still hate his jealousy now, but no one can do a damn thing about it.
 
let's not delude ourselves - A&M beat us in Austin last year. After all the posturing about "retribution", they punched us in the teeth this year. There is no "gap" in football.

I think they clearly have the better basketball team this year. I don't know if Turge-whatever-the-hell is going to get them very far, but they have more depth and probably more talent in their starting line-up. We have one player that would start for A&M's basketball team?

$Bill has earned his keep in College Station.
 
No way I don't believe this I know we are better than them we are not playing our game. Football losing two in a row those werejust flukes were better than that they know it basketball and baseball also.
 
We have won the first three State Farm Showdowns against the Aggies but this year we are in trouble. Our women's diving and swimming team lost to them in Austin today and the Aggies now lead us in the competition 4.5 to 2. This is the largest margin they have ever led us and this may unfortunately be the year they beat us in this competition.
