I haven't gotten to see them play this year but I know the Bill Fennley always has his team well coached in the fundamentals. What are our challenges and advantages in this game?
I am quite nervous about this game tonight. We just don't know which UT team will show up to play.
Here's a shoulda, coulda, woulda moment...
I just keep thinking about the game last night and Earnie's double double. We needed that double double every game all season. But I'm glad she peaked last night. Now to get Carla back SHOOTING THE BALL and Lindsey dropping some shots down low.
perimeter defense will be key, because ISU likes to shoot 3s....a lot. they were 7-25 from BTA (almost 50% of their total shot attempts, 19-53 total) in the 1st game we played against them this season.
Just heard that Heather Ezell is questionable for ISU today. Apparently hurt her shooting hand in practice Wednesday. Ezell is their leading scorer averaging 12 points per game and a 36% 3-point shooter.
Wieben is going to be tough inside. They have plenty of 3pt shooters to take up the slack if Ezell can't go. What she brings in leadership and toughness and she will be doing her best to inspire from the bench. I don't like playing teams that have just lost a top player. They tend to play outstanding to compensate. Horns will have to camp out at the 3pt line and our post players need to be alert inside because ISU does have an inside presence, it just gets overlooked because of their rep as 3pt shooters.
okay, confirmation on Carla. She will try to play and the broken index finger in on her non shooting hand which is already hurting with a thumb injury.
What is it with Texas teams and NO ability to hit shots? Seems like this is a Texas thing. Used to think it was Jody's offense...obviously I don't know anything.
