Interior DTs (including NTs)

Supposedly, YTD, Broughton is the highest rated DT in the SEC. Collins is # 5.
I'd quote myself from the beginning of the thread, but that'd just be piling on the wisdom.

I've been really impressed with how the DTs really don't seem to break. We've given a little more up the middle this year than last, but not often to the point of collapse.

However, beyond Simmons, the edge position has gotten just as schemed out of any meaningful stats as last season.
Burke - other than the pick-6, he basically just has a QBH and that's about it
Sorrell - he is decent at making his presence known
Vasek - only real stats in garbage time
Moore - huge disappointment so far. I think Simmons is taking all of his would-have-been snaps, and it shows on the box scores.
Finkley - barely gets in and doesn't do much

It's not all gloom-and-doom... I think the emergence of Gbenda as a clean-up man has basically turned the edge position on runs and rollouts into a "keep them busy" mugger while Gbenda, Hill, Guilbeau, Barron, and Lefau become the star of those plays.

The d-tackles had their best game this year. Disruptive on runs and consistent pressure. The defense got pressure with a four man rush which makes this d very salty.

Vernon was frequently doubled when they could get to him. As I said earlier this week (not on here), this was a $25 million game for him; so is this coming Saturday. Those two could be the difference in first round or third round. He's graduated, gotten married, and working to buy his mom a house. Great young man; great Longhorn; great recruiting example of what Sark's culture and hard work can produce.
