Interesting article on the B E saga

I just wish 1300 would restore the original staff and move on. I loved never having to change the station.

Don't know who the idiot was who hired Henson.

The douche known as Henson cannot be done with radio seeing as how radio was done with him. You have to have talent, even a tidbit and he has none. His idiocy will lead into a failure of his new business. Here's to some tough, lean and cold times ahead. Thanks for ruining our radio in Austin. And you think you will be able to get away with having a business flourish in Central Texas? Really? You messed with Texas you jackass. Word will get out who owns that stupid coffee place and you will be moving sooner than later.

Just leave now. Idaho or South Dakota will get you immunity.

I just don't want his business to work in Austin. If that ruins him that is his own poor planning. I just want him to leave and not be able to make it in Texas in any capacity. Don't go away mad, just go away.

I won't take the time to go to his business to harsh on him nor to buy coffee. But if it were to go out of business, I would be less than sad.

Cement truck, well, that is a bit much. Would it be loaded or emtpy? Pedestrian or vehicular? Lots of intangibles.

The place is Chuck E Cheese but with coffee instead of pizza. I seriously doubt the soccer mom contingent gives a damn about Austin sports radio drama. It will succeed or fail for other reasons.

Don't suggest Idaho to that stupid fatass. Idaho's a nice place and it doesn't need ruining by the likes of Gregg H. I think he needs to open shop in Malfunction Junction.

I have to agree....he needs to leave. 1300 in all its greatness was one of the things that made Austin home. Greg came into my house and screwed with things. He is no longer welcome.

If you want to wish ill-will, financial ruin, cancer, or whatever on anyone, maybe the management dopes at Clear Channel would be a better target.

I'm not taking anything away from what you feel about some ex-afternoon radio douche, but, now that it's over, the vitriol seems a bit much. Especially, if you want to consider who was ultimately responsible for the carnage. Radio's a **** business.

In some ways it is not over. The damage is done. I don't think anybody here likes Clear Channel (other than maybe their employees and even them to a certain extent). But make no mistake about it, the damage is done. It is not over because the suck still exists. (suck being 1300 in its current state, not Henson who is also the suck but I don't wish him to not "exist", just not to live and prosper in Texas)

Seriously, whoever was in charge of hiring Henson in the first place over at 1300/Clear Channel, should be fired. How can you hire someone like Henson, who got consistently fired from everywhere else!

I used to love listening to sports talk radio. that was pretty much all I ever played on the car radio. It was great when I moved back to Austin to hear Craig, Kevin & Chad, Bucky & Erin - I was HOME again. Now that piece of home is gone thanks to Henson. And then read he was through with radio befoe he came back here which makes it sound like what he did was because he didn't give a **** so he was going to screw us over. So if he faces financial ruin, I'm not going to give a ****.

I am no fan of Henson but I don't wish that his family suffers.

In retrospect, I think that this is all for the better. Let's be honest, KVET was all we had but it was never great (other than B&E). I think that this shakeup is going to eventually give us better sports radio. As the article mentioned, KVET did not do well before the change when compared to sports talk in similar markets.

You need to break some eggs to make an omelette (sp?).

I agree with TheField. Chad & Kevin was not a good show at all. Craig's OK in small doses. What we need are more shows like B&E.

Honestly I have been liking Hoffman and D Hansen. Hansen really follows college basketball which is nice. And Hoffman seems to follow baseball pretty closely.

Chip Brown & Sean Anderson are pretty good but sometimes very repetitive. Chip brings in some good guests (beat writers from all over the country) but otherwise the show can get stale.
