He probably would have listened to what Putin was saying and worked with him on stated interests, much like he did with Kim Jung Un. Also, Trump and Zelensky weren't as chummy as Zelensky and Biden. He couldn't have relied on US aid as certainly. That would have motivated Zelensky to take negotiation more seriously.

I do wonder why Putin didn't do this between 2015 - 2021. Settling down Crimea might explain 2015. Trump very well explains the middle four years. Prepping for the invasion might explain 2021. By extension, makes me wonder if Putin would have waited for 2025 had Trump been reelected.

Yeah. It is better to listen to what a person says than what others say a person says. That is a rule for your whole life.

Remember intelligence agencies are based on lies. Putin lies too. I get it. But you deal with people based on their word. Then if you prove the lie you hammer them.

With respect to Ukraine, I'm probably closer to Vindman than to Tracey. However, I find it interesting that many of the same people who said it wasn't ok to question the patriotism of people who opposed the Iraq War even if they routinely bashed the United States are now so quick to question the loyalty of anyone who questions any facet of American foreign policy.

And yes, he could sue Vindman for defamation. It might be hard to find a lawyer to take the case on a contingent fee basis because Vindman is likely judgment proof, but he could sue him.

Taking money from political groups. Impeachment is supposed to be more than just politically driven. In fact he is proving that Trump was right all along about the motives of the impeachment. Vindman is basically knee capping all those who wished the charges were true and virtuous and supported the impeachment. Now he has made them look like fools.
