I'm afraid of Colorado

if we lose to colorado we have no business at all being in the top 15. colorado sucks and got beat down by a bad florida state team.

I was afraid of Colorado before the 2005 Big XII Championship Game. I was less afraid once we hung 70 in the 3rd quarter, but still slightly afraid that they might bring in Applewhite and stage a comeback against us.

My score prediction is 52 - 10

NCAA stats show that Texas is 6th in Scoring Offense; CU is 66th:

Their stats also show that Texas is 6th in Scoring Defense; CU is 63rd:

Jeff's Predictor says we'll beat CU by 15 -16:

Anything can happen in any game, but from our visitor's seats on Row 24 in Boulder, I hope it works out that way (or better).

jeff's predictor also /of interest/ has Tex as 16 pt home favorite over mizz and Baylor 1 pt fav over Col on neutral fld. and of course usc still favored over all..

This is a classic trap game, much like USC/osu. Very similar circumstances. 1st conference game, on the road in a hostile stadium with a team that would want nothing more than to beat us.

CU will be intense and ready to play; I hope we are.

We will be just fine. Our O will put up 42 with Colt running and gunning; Defense will hold them to 10; and Chiles will give 'em 7.
42-17

Do not be afraid brother HF.

I attended the Arky game. Despite many among our flock to focus on the negative, this UT team is pretty damn good. Is there room for improvement? Are there issues on D, etc.? Palmer PF's, Chiles head? Is Arky a poor team? Yes to all those questions, but this team showed me something - O, D and ST.

Colt continues to impress me and the team is getting better. Muschamp's D is getting better each week, they had what, 6-7 sacks vs. the hawgs and gave up 3 freakin' points and < 200 yds total offense vs a SEC team? Orakpo is a freakin' beast on the outside. We don't appreciate how good Quan and Shipley really are. Colt should be at least mentioned among Heisman candidates. John Gold is the best & most consistent punter we have had since Russell F'n Exerleben - I watched him during warm ups - consisently kicked it 60-65 yards HIGH in the air on virtually every punt... damn.

We obviously have a big test Sat. in a hostile environment vs. a motivated team coming off a loss that will give 110% vs. TEXAS. For any in the conspiracy camp, Darrell Scott is NOT being "held back" for UT... he is a talented freshman and is playing like many freshmen on a D-1 level. He is not someone to worry about or fear.

I think this team goes in a takes care of business and surprises many at how we handle the buffs. Horns roll

I hope that Colorado leads 10-0 in the first quarter. That gives us the chance to exclaim "**** this" and cause war, pestilence and famine to befall them. I would like to see early adversity and frustration give way to anger and merciless, excessive retaliation.

Is this the first game with them since 70-3? If so, I'm cautiously optimistic. Maybe Hawkins will try and sell revenge. Then again, this team struggled with a CS team. I'm not scared.

I'm also afraid...that I won't be able to fold my wallet after I pick UT in this game. UT is going to mudhole CU into bolivion.

The only thing you need to worry about is dealing with their douchebag fans if you decide to make the trip.

For reasons I'm not really able to put into words, I think this team pays attentiion....and will not be looking ahead.
One word answer... COLT..

First real road game against good competition, Horns will have to play great to win. I think this is a close game and could go either way. I hope I am wrong but so far Horns have not played anyone worth a crap.

A road game at night in Boulder. If OSU can beat USC Colorado can beat Texas. If Texas comes out sluggish this game may not go the way we want it. We need to quiet the crowd early, 3 and out if we're on defense and a TD id we're on offense.

Focusness: I really like this 'word'.

If both teams play like they have thus far through the season, it should be a pretty easy UT win. However, being a fan I still hold out some hope of an upset.

Fear factor deferred until Macs' weakly press conference. I found it interesting that last week he couches the synopsis in statistical terms and then his predictive take on the stats.

Haven't heard that style since dropping a couple games very early in his tenure, so my take is whenever the stats. start gushing forth, then he is under-confident.

It's the coaches responsibility to make sure the players dont look ahead. The fans will learn a lot about the character of this Texas team by how they perform this weekend in Boulder.
