'If you like your Health plan you can keep it'

No not BO lies
but Senator Ron Johnson's R Wi new bill
The Link

"Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Friday that he would propose legislation next week that lets people keep their health insurance if they like it — a key promise President Obama made about ObamaCare that has not been kept.

"That promise has been broken," Johnson said Friday. "More than a million Americans have been notified that the plans they like with the coverage they have chosen have been canceled. Millions more Americans will have the plans of their choice canceled in months to come."

Is Senator Johnson low a liberal? He's going to force insurance companies to offer the same exact insurance plans that they offered pre-ACA? You know, those plans that typically change annually anyways.

Either he's grandstanding or he's anti-capitalist. I suspect he's the former.

?
"Is Senator Johnson low a liberal"
I don't even know what that means / Are you trying to say that Senator Johnson is a LOW as a liberal ?

IF Johnson is " grandstanding" by wanting people who like their current health plan to be able to keep then his grandstanding will mean more to people who are losing their insurance and seeing the huge increases with Ocare

Husker was BO grandstanding when he lied?

Husker
Yes insurance policy costs do rise
BUT it is a choice of the consumer to pay more if the consumer chooses to keep that plan.

And it should be up to the consumer to choose what is wanted on a policy, not have it rammed down your throat.

Are you seriously saying Husker you do not know if BO lied all those times he promised people could keep their Docs and their health insurance if they liked it?
How about when BO said over and over the cost savings for most families would be $2500.

Today slick Jay Carney finally had to admit BO lied

Can you in good conscience think BO was NEVER told all those times he lied that he might back off lying about being able to keep your doc or insurance?

That strains credulity, even from a supporter

This is excerpt of email I got from my employer with respect to the topics. They cancelled old plans and add new plans where it makes sense as in previous years. They accounted for ACA increment so employees are aware of it. Of course, I trust my VP of HR more than Hannity on actual impact of ACA

I keep my HDHP plan which i think a role model for financial responsibility in healthcare and everyone should be steered toward it. I redacted company name but this is not confidential by any means.

Dear xxxxx U.S. employees,

Annual Enrollment time is here. This is the once-a-year opportunity for each of us to evaluate our heath benefit choices with our families, and make our elections for 2014. This year’s Annual Enrollment period is from October 28 through November 15, and there are a number of plan changes. Annual Enrollment packets will begin arriving in the mail this week with complete details about next year’s changes. Many of you will need to select a new plan this year, so I encourage you to spend a little extra time to understand how the changes impact you.

Plan changes
We have streamlined the health plan options by eliminating six plans, introducing one new plan, and continuing to offer our most popular plans. The plans we are eliminating include: the Copay Plan, the Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP), and the Coinsurance Plan. The plan we are introducing is the Primary Care Plus Plan. This plan is a hybrid plan that combines the best features of the Copay Plan and the Coinsurance Plan—while offering the same doctors those plans offer today. We will continue to offer you the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)—which has been the most popular with our employees—and most of the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans. This simplified plan line-up reinforces our effort to emphasize preventative primary care and to put you at the center of managing costs and making good medical decisions for you and your family.

Plan costs
There is a 6% increase in plan cost this year, which includes a 1.25% increase from fees associated with the Affordable Care Act. This means your paycheck deductions will increase by 6%, except for those with the High Deductible Health Plan. Those with the HDHP will see an increase in their deductible amount. We understand that cost increases are not ideal. This cost increase is at the low end of market forecasts of 6-9%. Even with these increases, the total out-of-pocket cost each year for the average employee compares very favorably to the average annual cost paid by employees at other leading U.S. companies. The average xxxxx employee pays about $3,000 a year in total costs compared to $4,500 paid by employees at other companies*.

Plan lineup
As we look at the market and the future of xxxxx, we must continue to evolve our healthcare plans while keeping your health and wellness as our top priority. We are making these changes to improve the quality of care while controlling costs in the face of ongoing increases. External research and internal experience demonstrate that an emphasis on preventative primary care and individual consumer choice raises quality while lowering cost. The simpler plan line-up also should make important decisions about Annual Enrollment less confusing and easier for you and your family.

I see BO is granting an extension to sign up until March 31.2014
Oh goody they won't penalize people who can't use that abomination of a 600 Million $ web site

How will that help the hundreds of thousands of people who have been notified their insurance expires Dec31 2013?

This promise was what made the public receptive to Obamacare in the first place, and it was a fraud from the beginning. It was blatant lie, and it was stupid for anyone to believe it. If your healthcare plan didn't meet the ACA's regulations, it was going to go away. Anybody with a brain should have been able to see that.

ACA is having its intended result. It's worse than if we had just done a public option and worse than if we had done a single payer system. Unless you had a preexisting condition or are broke enough to be Medicaid eligible, it is a fuckin' dumpster fire. If this had been implemented one year earlier, there's absolutely no question that Romney would be president today, as screwed up as he was.

I believe Obama has moved from being deceiving, to just an outright liar. It is now documented that he knew up to 10 million would lose their insurance and openly lied that they would not.

He needs to be impeached as he cannot be trusted to protect the constitution as be pledged to the American citizens.

I think this was the strategy:

Many with individual policies do not need a heavy coverage policy and had opted for the best combo of premium and deductible for themselves. And had done so in a free market place without government mandates on what policies had to have, nor not to have in them.

Now if the federal and state exchanges were to open up and have many of the mandated elements added to them -- such as no pre-existing restrictions, and providing coverage for mental health treatment, paternal care, and so on -- then those policies might NOT be competitive with privately insured policies in the regular marketplace up until now.

I think the HHS and Obama drove the mandated matter in order to "insure" (sic!) that ongoing policies prior to ACA would have to be replaced by expanded coverage -- therefore at a raised price -- in order to make the exchange marketplace more attractive.

That was a gambit and a planned matter to insure the ACA would fly.

Next was to price the exchange offerings so that subsidies -- another word for taxes collected from the tax base -- would subsidize and make the exchange policies appear inexpensive.

No NO You are being much too harsh on BO.

When he kept repeating over and over that if you liked you health care plan or you liked you doc you could keep them PERIOD
as Mrd points out everyone should have known he was lying.
Dems point to a sentence buried somewhere in the 2200 or so page plan that that BO misrepresentation ONLY applied to people who had insurance prior to march2010 and that No, Zero, zip nada change had been made to that plan.
well to those people whose plans had not changed one iota AND to the millions on employee plans he exempted and of course to all the federal workers who are also exempt from BO

Why yes BO knew how many people were going to be sent notices but Hey, Those people should have known better.

Anyone have a guess how many of the young healthy people will sign up once they realize thee is NO way to fine them if they aren't getting tax refunds?

Even the most diehard liberals are struggling to defend this. They pranced out SJL on CNN earlier today who openly lied and said Obama never said any of these things!

I am waiting on HF resident libs to chime in. I know Roger35 will come up with some asinine defense, but I bet none of the others tries to defend the Liar in Chief.

Meanwhile, the White House has not cleaned up its propaganda...

I watch about 10 mins of tv news before I go to work everyday. Yesterday and today I saw all out hit pieces on obamacare on two different channels. MSN.com even has been trashing it like rats off a sinking ship.

I am not sure that Obama was lying about being able to keep your plan. I think he is just a liberal academic that naively believes that his ideas actually work regardless of their long history of failure. He has never had a job in the private sector. He has no clue how free markets work. Does anyone believe that Obama could run a small business anywhere other than into the ground?

BO is nothing but a great speech-giver. Nothing. He is not interested in being President, he just loved running for President, touting his "achievements" and lying. Perhaps if he hadn't spent the weeks before the rollout trashing R's and continuing to tout the great ACA, he might have had time to at least ask if the damned computer program actually worked. He is not that "hands-on."

I do think that President Carter is smiling - BO looks likely to beat him out as the least competent President in our lifetime.

Also, the ACA will not be blamed by BO and his patsies for insurance companies dropping coverage or prices skyrocketing. It will be the Evil Insurances Companies. Never mind that I will be paying for maternity care that I don't need, and will continue to pay for people who refuse to buy insurance. Three more years of this Bozo as President might make me need mental health coverage, though, as I become more and more depressed while our country continues in a downward spiral.

This:

"I do think that President Carter is smiling - BO looks likely to beat him out as the least competent President in our lifetime."

is there anyone who still thinks BO didn't lie?

The new spin is so pathetic even Piers Morgan laughed at it
" we;; yes we did make sure your old policy would get cancelled but the new one will be so much better you don't care that it costs more.
rolleyes.gif

I see Mary Landrieu D la will also intro a bill to allow people to keep their old policies

I get to keep my current plan. But I did get a letter this week stating that starting in January 2014 I will have 2 new ACA fees "Annual Fee on Health Insurers" and "Transitional Reinsurance Program Contribution Fee". It only raised my premium 4.79% which doesn't sit well with me but not sure it is enough for me to cancel and go rogue just yet.

HHD
and Jimmah agress with you. I am sure he had that cit eating grin when he said:
'JC: “He’s done the best he could under the circumstances. His major accomplishment was Obamacare, and the implementation of it now is questionable at best.”

MilitaryH

What does it say about the utter shambles of this abomination that this story about BO trumpeting her success only to learn she was scammed by a faulty state exchange also barely raises eyebrows.

Do you think Ocare lives beyond the first qtr of 04?
I read now that many Dems are already asking to go back to the drawing boards but this time with imput from pubs.

There can't be more than 100 people left in USA who think Ocare will actually work
