.....leave the damn walls where they are and leave the bats alone.

watched that with no sound in a bar and that was a HR from the moment he CJ swung the bat. except that it was at TD Ameritrade and it couldn't be a HR, could it? which made it a bit more suspenseful.

Is it just a coincidence that a NCAA official was in the booth just prior to that HR talking about the lack of them and stating he was hoping to see one in that game? I think they slipped a juiced ball in hoping a HR would be hit by someone. Think about that, it's a real possibility. Got to go now, the black helicopters are circling my place again.

You do know that Disch-Falk Field was constructed with almost identical dimensions of Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, so that our game during the season would be especially effective in Omaha?

And that the new Ameritrade corporate park in Omaha was constructed to nearly identical dimensions of Rosenblatt, with one key mistake-turning the park so that the prevailing gale force winds of June constantly blow in from the outfield, knocking down even the most powerful hitters fly balls?
UT's game, which many complain about all season, is ideally suited not only for Disch-Falk, but also for Omaha.
UT is better served leaving the bats, the balls, and the walls alone.
We allot more of the limited baseball scholarships to pitchers than other teams because of the above issues, as well.
If Omaha wants to see home run derby, they can bring in the fences, rotate the field so the wind blows out, and bring back the lively bats of the 90's which made a mockery of the game of baseball.
Then UT would bring in its fences, quit recruiting pitchers, and load up with steroided up gorillas to please the Omaha announcers who don't seem to know that baseball can be played more than one way.

Awesome!!! And I loved every second of excitement an endangered species "HR" finally provided. Especially since we couldn't put together any hits/walks back to back all game, and that's usually the only way to score now.

My point exactly with the drowning of the power side, it was a rare treat we all are thanking Jesus for today. Now how about even one more HR in any of the 8 other CWS games? Had the pleasure of laboring through countless scoreless innings and solo run rallies though. I thought I heard the CWS crowd ALL orgasm in their drawers together when he made contact, both friend and foe.

Thank you, C.J.

Blow me, lifeless bats and huge parks with wind gusting in. This is where they choose to play for the national title of college baseball?

Bring that sucker to Dell Diamond or either of the MLB parks in Texas. Be way better.

Most of all...HOOK 'EM!!!

Thinking about shopping for an "Eater T shirt on sale tomorrow. Use it for mowing and such.

Hard to believe this place is STILL so butthurt about us. NU did what was in their best interest. Or at least that's what they SAY. Move ON, people.

Good luck T. You, of all people, ought to know that they may not ever get over it as they "blame" us for their fall from football prominence.

IMHO, college baseball should join the other sports and rotate championship locations.

In its day, Omaha maybe made sense. College baseball, particularly the CWS, didn't make much of a blip on the sports landscape and the folks in Omaha gambled on wheeling and dealing with the NCAA to build a park in return for permanent hosting.

Times have changed.

With cable TV, and ESPN pushing the regionals and CWS, college baseball is growing in national popularity, not just an Austin or Los Angeles or Miami thing. Maybe not in Omaha or Boulder or Salt Lake City or Lansing.

Did anyone else take note of the map put up last night showing where CWS participants this year are from? And the announcers' note that no B1G team or northeastern team or Rocky Mountain or northwest? 3 Big XII teams, the deep South and a California team, basically. And that's not unusual.

Traditional powers, that is reliable participants are like USC, UT, AzSU, FSU, The U, Cal Fullerton/andothers, various deep south others like LSU, SCar, UF, Bama, Piggy, southwesterners OSU, a few periodic pop-ups of OregSt, WichitaState, etc., but very, very few above the Mason-Dixon line.

So, why Omaha? Using a major league park would be problematic with the seasons overlapping. But many successful major college programs are upgrading and adding capacity all the time. Surely, not Rosenblatt or TDAmeritrade numbers, but surely TV revenues outweigh butts in seats anyway.

I think interest nationally would grow with rotating CWS locations: Miami area, Austin/Houston area, LA/Tempe, St. Louis/Midwest area (just for fun and to TRY to get northern programs interested).

College football rotates national championship locations. College basketball does also.

Why not baseball?

I'd trade that "romance" in saying "goin' back to Omaha" with a CWS in Austin every once in a while.

Omaha is the home of the CWS, and should remain the home. But Nebraska fans should be barred from attending unless their team makes the tournament, which is once every 50 years.

The "Cotton Bowl" was the home of the Cotton Bowl game till it wasn't and money did the talking.

Just like in that situation, much of the heart and character of the CWS has vanished with the destruction of Rosenblatt Stadium. Even the nature of the games played have been changed with the constant wind blowing in at TD Ameritrade.

The CWS will move if the right money situation comes up somewhere else. That's why TD Ameritrade exists as it was part of a deal to keep the CWS in Omaha.

Money talks and if it talks loud enough, the CWS in Omaha will go the way of The Cotton Bowl game in the actual "Cotton Bowl" on New Year's Day.
