Idaho vs Texas, 12/09 @ 1:00pm

Man! I love watching these short news conferences. I haven't watched too many because I didn't want to get caught up drinking too much from the Kool-Aid fountain. But his candor about the game and the players, while still preserving their privacy (not throwing them under the bus) is so refreshing from past, dreary, depressing press conferences. Of course, this one was after a win, so there's that.
The one after the aggy loss...man-o-man.

Vic mentioned that specifically in his post game press conference.

Absolutely love his candor (volleyball coach). So refreshing he stays away from the "coach speak" and speaks his mind. And applaud him for teaching accountability (knocking on doors, oversleeping).

Celeste looks miserable out there; body language has been very negative since the opener. Need her to pull it together for Sunday if we want to win.
I’ll pay closer attention when I rewatch it, but what I remember about Celeste last year is that she was always very serious and showed very little emotion - almost looked mad if anything but it was really just extreme focus. That just seems to be her court personality.

They got pretty sloppy in the 2nd half, as if they were coasting. Not sure I liked seeing that at all but as was pointed out on TV, Vic seemed to be steaming over it too. You don't see Baylor or UConn or USC making a habit of getting up on an opponent and then coasting home through the 2nd half.

I suspect this will be pointed out and corrected in practices - play to a standard the entire 40 minutes, whether you are a starter, a sub, or a walk-on.
Honestly I remember that happening several times last season. Drove me crazy. Might be some leftover habits that need to get corrected.

I agree. These mental things take time to correct and, remember, the pandemic has restricted how much and the way teams have been able to prepare for this season. Great point @WCBBNUT .

I didn't want to come right out and say it (too many still a little salty whenever Aston's teams are criticized), but yes. I think that's what we saw.

Yes her court mentality has always been focused & serious but idk it just looks different too me this year than last season. It's probably just a slump she is going through & the anger is coming due to her not playing how she wants to play. It comes from a lot of sophomores so I expect as time goes on and she gets back to the level she wants to play at then she will be more happy.

Yep, sophomore slump is a real thing.
