I want to rescue Vince from this horrible team

I hate that he got injured but even worse to me is to hear that anyone booed, (from another thread) even one person if it was a Titans supporter. There are always Titans fans complaining and it seems they do not know what they have or appreciate him and they DO NOT deserve him. Yes he has struggled but he is THE BEST EVER and if they don't like him or appreciate him I wish so much he could just leave them to themselves to see how bad they would do with him not there and go to a team who would recognize that he is the greatest football player that ever existed. The Titans should thank the heavens they have even had a chance to play one day with him.

Yes he has struggled but he is THE BEST EVER

Yes the best ever college athlete now he has to go and prove himself on the next level..

He has played bad in the NFL. Thats all there is too it. The problem is his WR's are terrible and make him look even worse.

Even though he makes poor decisions. His WR's routinely drop catchable balls and fail to make plays. They finally got him a real weapon in Chris Johnson, he's got two TE's he can rely on. Now its time in the next off-season to go after a #1 WR and a #2 WR because the guys they have right now are all #3/#4 guys.

I can't imagine anyone who knows Vince that would count him out. Anyone who saw him play at Texas watched him struggle.

And then we were Champions.

It's a process. I wanted to see him get his first real teeth jarring NFL hit his rookie year. I never got to see him get hit...really hit...at Texas. And when he did get hit, I cheered how he reacted.

And I'll cheer him now as he struggles as the Titans Captain. But I won't count him out.

I remember the sad day when we booed him against missouri at DKR...

Vince would have benefited from another year in college (and so would we) but he had to cash that lotto ticket (as would I). He has to deal with a very difficult transition to the NFL AND he has very little talent around him to help that transition.

VY, while on a team that had offensive weakness, is also not helping his own situation. He continues to throw the ball in bad situations, leading to INTs.

It is sad. I love VY as much as the next Longhorn, but I willing to start calling it as it is. I have been an advocate of saying VY needed time to learn the NFL, and grow into being an NFL QB. I am starting to think that day may never come, and our expectations never truly met. At least not with this team (which honestly isn't the worst one out there....I think he should be doing much better than this, given the circumstances). You can not blame a poor arm/accuracy on WRs every week.

One game isn't everything, but yesterday was pretty much what we have been seeing from last year and the year before. We shall wait and see, and maybe things will get moving for him next week. One or two more years of this kind of play, and I do not think you will see VY as their starter anymore. Either traded or benched.

first, we're over reacting to an extent.

similar to the media riding Bama's crotch simply because we won ONE game vs clemson.

you can point to stats all you want, but the fact is that teams HAVE to still account for vince, and that's why the titans can run up the middle so well.

I do think the titans built this team correctly, from the inside (center, qb, rb then to rest of oline, then to TE and hope fully WRs next off season) out, and the WRs wouldn't make the top 52 of most teams let alone start, but still......

they are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole with vince. if they refuse to use him more on rollouts and qb draws just to "protect their investment" then it was a poor investment.

one thing is for damn sure, he isn't going to quit on anybody

You guys who have continued to call for the Titans to get VY some weapons at WR may as well give up. It's not gonna happen as long as Jeff Fisher is the head coach of that football team. All he's gonna get are TE's and RB's and occasionally some OL. Fisher has only made noticeable improvements at the WR position in one offseason (1998 when they added Thigpen)

1994: Ernest Givins, Haywood Jeffires, Webster Slaughter (7 combined Pro Bowls lifetime, all of which were already there before he was even on the Oilers' staff)
1995: Haywood Jeffires, Chris Sanders, Derek Russell (3 combined PB's)
1996: Willie Davis, Chris Sanders, Derek Russell (0 combined PB's)
1997: Davis and Russell (0 combined PB's)
1998: Kevin Dyson, Yancey Thigpen, Willie Davis (2 combined PB's)
1999: Kevin Dyson, Yancey Thigpen, Isaac Byrd (2 combined PB's)
2000: Derrick Mason, Chris Sanders (2 combined PB's)
2001: Mason and Dyson (2 combined PB's)
2002: Mason and Dyson (2 combined PB's)
2003: Derrick Mason, Justin McCareins, Drew Bennett (2 combined PB's)
2004: Mason and Bennett (2 combined PB's)
2005: Drew Bennett, Brandon Jones, Courtney Roby (0 combined PB's)
2006: Bennett and Jones (0 combined PB's)
2007: Justin Gage, Roydell Williams, 34 year old Eric Moulds (3 combined PB's)
2008: Justin McCareins, Justin Gage (0 combined PB's)

Waiting on Jeff Fisher to upgrade the WR corps is like waiting on Halley's Comet. And I mean a serious upgrade, I don't mean signing 11 year veterans whose best season was a decade ago and whose last pro bowl season was 5 years prior to his acquisition. VY getting weapons at WR will require him to wear a different team's jersey. It's really that simple.

Vince needs to quit pouting and focus on the things that he can control. He's letting crap that he has no influence over get him down.

He needs to grow up and act like a professional.

This thread has to be a joke, and I think most of you took the bait. My guess is the OP's gushing over VY was poking fun at the love affair the Longhorn fanbase has with VY. Read it again - that can't e serious.

No not a joke, not making fun, and yes it is serious. I do love him that much and so does most everyone I know. It is hard to see him having a hard time. And frustrating when we know what he is capable of and want to see it.

I watched this game.

The Titans D is outstanding, the running game is very solid.

I am afraid the problem is not the team or the coaches, it is the QB.

He looked slow and indecisive, like he did not want to be there. He almost pulled a Pippen and did not get into the huddle for a couple of minutes.

Vince is making more than his fair share of mistakes, a good wr would help, but I think that Chow's offense was not good for him. Now he's learning a new one. Give him 2 years w/ Humdinger and see how he looks.

He looks depressed, like he really doesn't want to be there. He's not playing well, and something needs to change, fast.

The Titans are 1-0. The Colts, Jags & Texans are all 0-1. Which of those four AFC South teams would you describe as most "horrible?"

My dream scenario would be if the Patriots trade for him right now.

What's the deal with VY's contract? When's the first opportunity he can get out of Tennessee?

Vince just doesn't look like Vince out there. I can't think of a better way to put it. You can blame whoever you like, and its probably partially justified. Either way, he just doesn't look like the same Vince. I don't see the same swagger.
