I Think McFarland Will Be an LSU Tiger

Every LSU grad I know will privately admit that their academics are a joke, especially for jocks. McFarland's said he's serious about the books and his high school grades seem to back that up. I guess we'll see.

I think the key point we're missing with McFarland is that - as long as you're good, which McFarland seems to be - there will be absolutely no standards to which he is held. I'd go there too.

Hopefully his recruiting abilities will work out better than RP's did. And Shepard may have reason to stay if RP is finally kicked off the team at some point.

Les probably isn't going to kick RP off the team completely until he knows he has a sure good QB who can take over. Then he can use the scholarship for someone else.

Well McFarlands mom apparently LOVES Texas. I know Shepard is recruiting McFarland but its not like they are best friends they havent known each other that long only a couple of months.

We will see. He also said he wants to experience a gameday atmosphere at Texas, LSU, and OU so we will see. Hopefully he comes when we play Arkansas or someone like that and not middle southwestern tennessee tech lafayette state college.

I think he, Cowell, Kennard and Okafor all need to get together and just imagine how dominant they could be together if they were all to commit here.

Someone on OB is sayin that russ shep didn't even come to Austin last weekend, therefore he didn't talk to McFarland. I dont know if it is true or not.

This reminds me of Aghayere. The longer it goes the more likely we will lose him. If he doesn't verbal by the end of August then I concede.

I don't get any talk about conceding this guy. We need him, we are a good fit for him roster-wise and academic-wise. And Mom like us.

We just need to be patient.

Ditto what cochamps said.

There aren't any givens in recruiting. But if the young man truly holds the interests and values he expresses, and carefully evaluates his options, we shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Having said that, I have a 17 yr old boy, and what appears to me to be indisputable is often very much up for dispute!

I'm tempted to include a frownie face but prefer to stay optimistic.

Right now LSU leads for McFarland, but as I have posted here and other sites, he will likely be a signing day recruit and many things will change between today and next Feb.

The information on LSU leading is from a Texas site owner.

Next week who knows OU may lead, it will be a long chase and any team could end up with his commitment.
