I suck at guitar hero

I played this for the first time at a NYE party last night. I'd never even seen it before.

I sucked at it, but it was so much fun. I did the 80s career mode on Easy and, miraculously, made it all the way through. I thought it was allsome that Austin was the last stop on the tour. I was Pandora, playing a Flying V as the lead guitarist of the band "A".

My right wrist is sore today from that thing. I'd love to get that game, but I know I'd never do anything else again for the rest of my life. That's the first video game I've ever been interested in.

No word on that yet. Downloadable content is supposed to be coming though. They never put GH1 on the 360, but some of the better songs were offered for download.

I played on medium earlier today. I made it to Before I forget before I failed. I am going to have to step it up a notch b/c my gf has been playing and I can't let her get better than me.

The importance of learning to double-strum (alternating up and down) cannot be understated. If you don't learn it in the early going, you're going to be hosed when you get to the hard stuff because learning to do so at higher difficulties is frustrating beyond belief, and going back and replaying the easy songs is boring as hell.

i got this game a couple of days ago, and have been having a lot of fun with it. can now consistently get 4 or 5 stars on medium now except on raining blood and one.

but the craziest thing i've noticed about this game so far is one that nobody has mentioned yet -- when you play for a while, then look away at something stationary, it moves like if you were high on mushrooms. is that normal? should i see a doctor? does guitar hero get you high?

Watching the "treadmill" (a.k.a. note track) may produce a similar effect to the optical illusion where you stare at the black and white spirals for 30 seconds and then, for several seconds afterwards, everything else you look at appears to be rippling and distorting. I think I've had that happen to me once or twice before.

I've found that after playing for a long time, when I close my eyes, I see notes coming at me. Guitar Hero haunts my sleep.

Chreub Rock on Hard is fantastic for learning to hit 3 note chords. It helps immensely to have it down when you hit Expert, not to mention Number of the Beast on Hard.

So I've achieved either mastery or at least proficiency on Hard up until the last level and all the songs except Cliffs of Dover are kicking my ***. So to take a break I put in GH Rocks the 80s for the first time in months and tried to tackle my old nemesis "Play with Me" on hard. I probably tried that song 100 times without passing it, tonight I kicked it's *** on my third try.

Have you tried it naked?

I got GH3 and COD4 (XBox360) at the same time. I'm working on getting a divorce lawyer soon.....

As for GH3, I've never played a game where tears were dripping from my eyes onto my shirt because I don't have time to blink while playing!!!

Home chores and honey do's have been piling up over that last few days. Both of these games are my crack cocaine!! fun stuff.

I thought I was the only one who saw the wavy screen thing. Thought I might be having an acid flashback.

We originally bought the thing for my son on his wii, but the classic rock slowly lured both my wife and I in.

I suck at it. I played some guitar in my teens and 20s and i have a pretty good sense of rythym, but this thing is killing me. My favorite metal song of all time is raining blood, but i can never get further than a minute into the song before I get booed off the stage. Im on beginner, mind you.

Is it a practice thing???..........I dont have much spare time so 15-30 minutes a day is the most i can do.

Yeah, Raining Blood is a toughie. I can beat everything on Hard, and have got to the last set of songs on expert, but those are just exponentially harder then the rest. My problem is that I always deploy Star Power on accident. Then when I get to the hard solo or riff, I dont have it. I have to find the perfect height so it doesnt deploy.

I ordered Guitar Hero III - XBox 360 - from CC on December 17th for one of my grandsons (he's 15), and it still hasn't arrived yet.

WTF?

Excuse me for being an out of the "pop/gaming culture" loop old man, but is this game that popular and hard to find?

ScoPro, for the 360 with the wireless guitar, yes, it is that hard to find.

I ended up buying it off of ebay (for a $50 premium

) because it was nowhere to be found in retail or on the web.

My wife and I couldn't find the GH3 game/wireless package for the 360 anywhere in Austin before or after Christmas. We ended up buying the game itself from best buy, and picked up a pair of wired Explorer guitars separately after we figured out that wal-mart keeps several on hand at all times.

Who needs a wireless controller anyway? A guitar just doesn't seem "right" if it doesn't have a cable, y'know? The length is around ten feet, and we added an ordinary 6' USB extension cable to each so we could sit on the couch if we felt like it

Can I pay somebody to come to my house and beat my gf's scores on my Wii? I'm not sure which is more embarassing, that she is better at me at this game or that I am willing to pay some one to beat her scores. I am guessing the latter. Either way, I live in Kemah. PM me if you're interested. I am not joking.

I'm in the same boat as RTC...I played for a few hours for a few days working through beginner, and then started in on medium and was slowly working through it, and my wife picked up the guitar on a saturday and beat just about every medium song on her first try without ever having played it before. It's really just demoralizing. At least she can't beat me on Bulls on Parade on medium. I kill that song.

How can you beat 'One' on medium? There's a section at the end where the notes come so fast I can barely play in with practice mode set to slowest.

for 'one' on hard what i do is save the star power until the crazy solo. i can't beat iron maiden on expert yet either.
