I suck at guitar hero

Granted, I've only spent about 4 hours total playing, but I suck. I've gotten past the easy level in career mode, but now I can't get higher than around 80% on any of the songs on the next level. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a lot of fun with the easy level, but I can see this getting boring as **** after a month or two. Maybe I need to start smoking pot again or something.
 
once you get good enough to get 90% on Hard consistently, it gets really fun and stays fun.

I've 4 or 5 starred every song on Hard except for the Slayer song and the Metallica song, and I've passed 24 songs on Expert, and it's still fun to me.

That stupid Slayer song, however, is not fun. And I've just decided I'll just play all the other songs and forget about beating that one. It's in the final set anyway, so I'm not missing out on anything except the final boss battle, and I don't really like the boss battles anyway.
 
Take a break and just work on your posing. You'll come back refreshed and break through this plateau.
 
Rusk, the Slayer song is doable. You just have to spend some time in practice mode working on the Mosh 1 section. Take it down to slower, practice until you get 90% or better consistently. Then go to the next speed and master it. It took me about 3 hours but eventually I got it. The rest of the song followed pretty shortly.

The Lou battle was worse.
 
yeah, I am stuck on the Slash battle on Med.

with easy, you have time to just tap the buttons/notes as they come up but even on Med, it seems like you need to hold down the upper buttons (G,R,Y) and then let go. I am not good at that at all.
 
Lou wasn't too bad on easy or medium- I was talking about him on hard.

I've got 8 songs til I see him on expert- that's supposed to be a royal pain. But I'm expecting to spend awhile with the Slayer song again...
 
Also RTC, multiplayer is great for GH. If you're on Wii, send along your friend code- we've got a few Wii players on HF. Big community on Xbox Live too.
 
I just got Guitar Hero III for Wii. Any advice?

They need Guitar Hero - Van Halen, complete with the EVH red and white-striped guitar. To win, you must play Eruption. If you do win, the guitar melts.
 
go to the Nintendo WFC or whatever it is called on the main menu. That's the multiplayer section.

If you select view friend's list, it will display your friend code as well.
 
"Dad, is 'Talk Dirty to Me' or 'Slow Ride' easier?"

OK, maybe my nine-year-old daughter *IS* too young for Guitar Hero.

But gawd, this kicks ***.
 
Can you co-op where you are on different difficulty levels? I'll try to stay up after the game, but it's way past my bed time.

well, if you have the 360, the guitars from Guitar Hero 2 work. There are also several 3rd party wireless guitars out there.

I have a Wii so there aren't any other guitars yet. Supposedly in the next few weeks they'll start selling just the guitar for Wii.
