Last night my father had a stroke. Today he has been diagnosed with endocarditis - a bacterial infection of his aortic valve. The drawback is that in order to replace the valve, surgeons want at least 4-6 weeks of treatment with antibiotics before surgery. They also need 4-6 weeks of time to pass from the onset of the stroke because all of the blood thinners they use in conjunction with the bypass machine could cause a more severe stroke which could kill him. He is a whopping 50 years old. The stroke happened last night so we need 27 more days of his body being able to handle a leaky aortic valve. Just 27 days and the risk factors drop dramatically.
Right now I really don't have any credit on file with the man upstairs, so if any of you have some you feel you can part with, my mother, sister, and I could really use it.
Thanks and god bless,
