solo bomb in top 10th to win it for good guys

he came into day with 13 RBI lead in AL and added 2 more rbis. all of this in a lineup with next to zero protection.

Josh is definitely a keeper, but I wouldn't say he has no protection - Milton Bradley is hitting pretty well, also, in the four hole.

Rangers are starting to play well now. But we need to keep expectations realistic - this is not quite a World Series team yet...

Hey, I heart Josh as much as anyone. But he IS hitting between Michael Young & Milton Bradley, so I think he has just a bit of "protection."

Dude is on pace for like 185 ribbies. Just sick.

He is the current American League Triple Crown leader...

Batting Average .335 1st (Joe Mauer 2nd with .333)
Home Runs 12 T-1st (Carlos Quientin T-1st with 12)
RBI's 53 1st (David Ortiz 2nd with 38)

Other stats:
Hits 63 1st (Dustin Pedroia 2nd with 62)
TB 116 1st (Kevin Youkilis 2nd with 106)

it's like having Mickey Mantle in our midst.

He seemed to be in a mini-slump - some 1 for 4 games - but he's back to the two hits and power game.

In post-game interview they talked about his stolen base today and apparently he's been working on running with Gary Pettis. That's great to hear that you've got this triple crown kinda guy working on his running.

So, last night I had some nondescript dream and there was this guy in it that I was trying to figure out who he was...when I woke up it dawned on me it was Josh Hamilton. Guess I heart him too.

Living a clean life pays dividends, this is a great feel good story. If he stays clean he can be one of the best for awhile.

Is Chipper Jones still playing?! What is he, like, 85 years old?

I heart Josh Hamilton, too. He's my favorite Ranger, no contest. Comes to play EVERY DAY.

Josh is fun to watch. Those stolen bases in the last 2 games just add to his excellent season. Bradley is definitely helping out, no doubt about it. Hopefully the Rangers can start a new streak of winning 2 out of 3 and make their way to the top of the west. Josh seems to be a very down to Earth guy on the interviews they have had on FSN. Benoit is the guy I can't figure out. Go Rangers!

Josh got hosed by both the home plate and 3rd base umpire. Checkswing strike 3 that wasn't and then Josh waved his arm at the 3rd base ump like, "oh pssshaw." (Got that?) and home plate booted him. Hope the home plate blue gets a one game suspension for OVERREACTION.

that was some ******** by the home plate ump. the call by the 3rd base ump was bad enough but it was over with after that. then the dumbass HP ump intervened and threw out hamilton..... what a dickwad.

I was channeling surfing sports tonight and I believe it was Channell 11 - CBS affiliate in Dallas had a nice interview and story on Josh and his turnaround... he gave a lot of credit to his grandmother. Regardlesss you have to be happy for the kid and the results

I read an ESPN article on him on my way to Omaha in 2004. I'm so glad he's doing badass now. I'm a Cubs fan, but I'm also a Josh Hamilton fan.

Josh just created an opportunity for his team that turned into not one, not two, but five runs! What would have been 3rd out, ball bounced off chest of the 3B who still quickly retrieved and made a good throw. Most guys would still be out (I'm thinking Pudge, Juando, Sorriano, not to mention other mere mortal slow-footed guys like Blalock, Cattalonotto, etc), but Josh beat it out, opening the door for a huge inning.

HOLY MOLY! Josh just hit grand slam on first pitch he saw in 8th to put this game away. (Unfortunately it was off J.P.Howell who had pitched 3 great innings and was the victim of a poor decision by his catcher earlier in the inning creating the bases loaded situation.)

Lewin called him "Slamilton."

f'ing lewin.

on a serious note, hamilton DAMN NEAR cadillac'd that error by the 3B that led to those runs. he sat there for a count and watched it. nonetheless, hats off the to the rangers.... take the series from the other hottest team in the MLB, make it 10 straight undefeated series, and go over 500.

Showalter said on baseball tonight exactly what I thought when he hit that..."how did he get his hands through the zone on that".

Boys and girls...the thing that is most impressive about Mr. Hamilton is that he hits balls out of the yard that most people fist. He gets his bat through the zone so quickly that he takes the high inside fastball (even one off the plate from a lefty) and hits it not barely over the fence but way the **** out.

I haven't seen a lefty do this since I can remember. Watch the pitches he seems to hit out and ask yourself what Hank Blalock would have done with that. Unreal.
