My friend's father has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Apparently, it has spread to his pancreas as well. Richard, a Texas Ex, is a very stubborn, hard-nosed rancher who hates to go to the doctor. He thought he had a stomach ulcer up until now. I'm very worried that it has had too much time to spread. Richard is also a very kind, generous, loving person who is deserving of all the support he can get. He's heading down to the UT cancer center in Houston this afternoon.
I'm also very worried about his son: my friend and roommate Bryan. I have known him and his father since I was 6 years old, so I was around when Bryan lost his mother 10 years ago to breast cancer. I can only imagine what he's going through right now. Both parents, one awful disease.
So I'm asking for prayers for the both of them. And for myself, so that I may be the most supportive friend that I can.
Thank you.
