Marcus Griffin

I am very happy for this young man. I also didn't know just how cute he is.

Best of luck in the NFL, Marcus!

I've known the Griffins since middle school and played with them at Bowie. Even though I'm an Aggie, I'm still proud of what they have done at Texas and all that they have accomplished. Way to go guys!

What am I missing?

Congrats to him for graduating, but is his story special is some way that I’m not aware of?

Did he graduate with honors or something? Did he overcome a learning disability? Please fill me in.

Jeez Hagy, consider the source, what were you expecting?

Nothing wrong with a simple feel good piece on our players.

Can anyone tell me why Griffin's graduation is noteworthy? I'm happy that he got his degree, but what is the story here?

It's written on the sports information page. It's not a news story. It's the SID having a player write something on what it means to him to earn the T ring. No, it's not earthshattering news. No, his case isn't special from that standpoint. It's an opportunity for a kid to tell the alum how proud he is to have played for The University. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, Milkman, there is only one Bevo and only one Big Bertha, to my knowledge. However, there are about 8,700 bachelor’s degrees awared EACH YEAR at UT. Do you see the difference?

So again, why is Griffin's graduation noteworthy? Tons of varsity atheletes graduate each year. Tons of students who have carried heavy loads (working full time, family demands, etc.) graduate each year. Nearly everyone on this board has or will graduate. It's a great accomplishment for anyone, but what's the specific story here?
