I got a tattoo in Austin

My sister just got a butterfly on top of her foot also. Her best friend has the same one. From what I hear, my sister's looks better and will in the long run from her friend's. She said it hurt really bad, so I give you props again, Mary!

I'll be getting my Longhorn soon!!

We're not THAT kinda close, it's like having a feminine version of myself. She is like my best friend. And truthfully, any parent wishes/wants their kids to get along as well as we do.

However, it's not just me and my sister, my entire family is very close. We call each other almost everyday when we aren't together and are extremely similar. We say things routinely at the exact same time with the exact same inflection, we believe the same things, and feel the same way just about everything politically, religiously, and everything in between. About the only difference between us is my dad doesn't like tatoos because you can't donate blood for a year.

hey... my sisters and I all got our first tattoo together. it was one that I drew up. so I don't knock ya for getting that with your sis at all!! more power to ya!!

no offense taken Uncle Rico. Really doesn't bother me who likes them and who doesn't. Since it only affected my personal self and no one else, then I'm pretty sure I'm happy with it being on my body. Now if I run into any one at the Longhorn games, please don't look at my foot or you might just

.

It is a pretty awesome tat by the way.

I'm a tattoo fan, but I can certainly see how some are turned off by it, especially given some of the ink I've seen on people. An earlier poster nailed it when he mentioned people that see a cool design on a tattoo shop wall, and tell the artist, "I want that."
The last time I got a tattoo, there was two guys in there shopping for designs on the wall and asking, "How much for this? Ok.. How much for this one over here?"
Pretty ridiculous.

So congrats, Mary. Now let's see it !

I'm not a fan of tattoos. I don't make value judgments about people who have them, but I wonder why folks want to permanently mark their body.

The only way I'd ever get one -- and I've said this on these boards before and I expect y'all to hold me to it -- is if the Longhorns win a national championship in basketball. Then I'll get a Longhorn tattoo.

Otherwise, NO WAY.
