I feel bad for Mike Goodson

I'm sure there are tons of people here who cannot feel sympathy for any A&M player ever. But I think Goodson is a very good running back and very fun to watch, and it's too bad he'll be underrated his whole time in college due to being stuck on a bad team.

He will have the same kind of senior year most Aggie running backs and QBs have had for the last decade or so: no longer playing for the Aggies. At least in Goodson's case he'll be in the pros before they can ruin his chances and throw him under the bus. It's crowded under there..

Toombs, Farmer, Courtney Lewis, Javorskie Lane, Reggie McNeal, Stephen McGee

Goodson vs. Metcalf

Maybe. Metcalf could make 4 guys miss in a phone booth though. One key difference is the way they are used. When Metcalf was almost all we had, we got him the ball enough to make a difference. Aggy underutilizes their guy.

Bingo. I sure don't feel sorry for him. The guy had several options coming out of high school. He has no one to blame but himself for every school (with the exception of a team coached by Frantastic) pulling his offer.

I don't feel sorry for aggies. I do enjoy laughing at them though. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sucks to be an aggy.

aggie will lose Goodson, McGee, and Lane. I bet their backfield doesn't reload too quickly. I know Johnson is supposed to be the second comming of VY

, but he doesn't look ready to lead the team yet.

why feel sorry for Goodson? He is getting his total college education paid for and then will sign a contract in the NFL for millions.

I have no reason to feel sorry for people in his "situation"

Speaking of Baylor... the week after we play Baylor here in Austin, the Aggies play at Waco (11/15). That might be a fun game to drive up to. Horns will be playing at Kansas. Maybe we'll get a primetime night game for that one.

But... I can just imagine Robert Griffin with more experience by 11/15... running wild all over Casey Stadium against the hapless aggies. Just gotta make sure the doesn't do the same thing in DKR the week before!

SgtLonghorn,

It was Mark Goodson, but I got the joke nonetheless.

I don't feel one bit sorry for any kid who chose to tie his kite to that bunch of losers.

Life is about choices and consequences. He made his choices and there are consequences. And he'll be many times more wealthy than me, so I'm not feeling sorry for the guy.

Wait, let me check deep into my heart... yep... uh huh... ok done. Nope, not an ounce of sympathy. He picked his poison, let him now drink from the cup.

Goodson could not have come to Texas. We didn't offer him a scholarship and backed off recruiting when he got a street agent. He has serious character issues and I'm glad Mack (when he knows about the issues) won't recruit such players.

This guy wasn't forced to sign for A and M. He made his bed, now lie in it. It's called life and the real world. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

I was talking to my roomate about this same thing on Saturday. He is an aggy fan. At first i kind of felt sorry for the guy, being on such a crappy team. As we started talking about it I came to the realiztion he made this decision he has to live with it. Live is about choices and maybe he learned from this bonehead move. aggy seriously? what was he thinking? fran must have really sold him on something. If goodson hasn't learned I have some ocean front property in arizona.

my understanding was that he scared off some people w/ his antics and personality. he committed to usc but then got scared off by the other rbs in the class. iirc, that was pretty late in the recruiting process and the only team left that was remotely respectable that would take him was aggy. so it's not like aggy was his first choice. in fact, that can be said about 95% of their class. they go to aggy when all else fails.

but yea, f him. he seemed full of himself as a senior. now he's now learning something about hubris.
