I don't like jalapenos

Staley, That sounds great. We used to love the stuffed jalepenos at Rockfish grill. They were a jalepeno stuffed with shrimp and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon then breaded and fried. Super yum. I was sad when they closed the one out in Round Rock.

Went to a friend's house last night to eat some chili. He made it for all I think so it had zero heat. I added about half a jar of pickled jalapenos....mmmmmm. They aren't hot and the flavour.... I just don't see how someone doesn't love 'em.

I agree with the general idea that heat is not flavor. Some heat can add to the dish (insert overused phrase of choice: depth of flavor, flavor profile, etc.), but I can't stand it when people think that the heat is what the dish is all about. This happens way too often when guys assert their manhood through chili or some carne guisada type thing that has no flavor other than the heat. I ordered migas at a new place yesterday and left almost all of it on the plate because they decided that two eggs needed two whole diced jalapenos to be good.

And, I think serranos have better flavor and make far better salsa.

I just made some bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers (stuffed with cream cheese and sausage) and my hands are on fire from the de-seeding process. I love 'em but they **** my **** up something fierce.

Jalapeños aren't that hot. And, they do have a flavor. Do you also not eat green, red, or yellow bell peppers? Do you not eat the chips and salsa at Tex-Mex restaurants?

I put jalapeños, serranos, habaneros, et al. into almost everything that I cook.

Of course, I'm born and bred in Texas so I have been eating peppers my entire life.
