How much longer to find dirt on Santorum?

Romney, not Santorum, is the only candidate who has a legitimate shot at upending Obama, imo. I see things getting only better for Romney. He'll win NH easily (imo), start to gain steam, which will allow him to start appealing to the normal, moderate portion of the GOP. The right-wing evangelico nutjobs won't ever accept him just by the fact he's Mormon.

I don't understand the GOP aversion to Romney, other than they are kinda stupid and once again injecting their religion into politics. Romney is smart, experienced both in politics and business, effective as well (as opposed to GWB's business results).

Romney should be a slam-dunk for the GOP. But we live in strange, dysfunctional political times.

I think it's kinda weird that he brought home his dead, premature fetus home to show his kids. And this is coming from one of those 'if its not hurting someone else and its in your own home- go for it' perspectives.

his judgment leaves something to be desired. all those guys in washington are creepy idiots. you have to pick the king of the idiots.

Everything I'm saying presumes that he wins the nomination....

A very, very, very big presumption.

As for evangelicals, they'll vote for Romney in the general election if he's the nominee.

Most will, some won't, almost all will not be enthused about it. The lack of enthusiasm will lower the evanglical turnout.

A third Bush term? I don't think so. I don't see Romney engaging in the destructive policies that Bush so admired (senseless wars based on lies; tax cuts for the rich).

Santorum doesn't have the money to pull this off, but he sure as hell has the narrative. His speech after the Iowa caucus was an absolute home run, he desperately needs free media and continue to give his story. People know where he stands on just about every issue, he's probably done nothing worse than any other politician, and he isn't Mitt Romney. Too bad money will be Santorum's achilles heel.

Like FDR, if obama remains president, we will have similar growth unless a war could come around and pull us out. FDR kept us in a depression for years as the rest of the world pulled out of it. I do not think another person could pull off what FDR did. Obama isnt very well liked to begin with. He is considered nothing more than another empty suit. That "change" crap will not work this time. obama is going to have a tough time in the battleground states where unemployment and the economy are at its worst. As always, it will be the independents (30%) that decide the election and romney is moderate enough and smart enough to get a landslide out of these folks imo.
