Houston vs OU

Porter looked damn good on that TD run

I’m ok with talking to myself here, fyi
You are not totally alone.

I wonder if the ABC crew knows that there are players from Houston participating. I find it downright offensive when all of the commentary is only on one team. This is the OU show with special attention to everything OU except the color of their underwear. The fat girl is living on the OU sideline.

They don’t even try to hide their bias. They act like so-called journalist on the major networks.

This one reminds me a lot of our 31-49 loss to UCLA in 1998. Score makes the game look a lot closer than it actually was, and the winning team was never really threatened.

OH’s D is not “back” as the announcers claimed. Same old OU. Great skill positions on O but little D. Texas should win the Big 12, over OSU not OU. I predict OSU beats OU this year.

I saw early on an OU player punch a UH player after the playwas dead and all that was called was a personal foul? I thought ejection was mandatory?

Would be nice, but a little early to get excited about OSU beating the consensus worse team in the PAC-12.

Yea, OSU looked good but the Beav looked really bad.

Hurts scares me. Looks better than Murray or Mayfield.
Not sure I would say better but certainly has much more size for defenses to contend with...and some of those plays make clear that secondary play HAS to stay with the receiver until the whistle blows. More than once, Hurts looked like he was going to tuck and run only to heave downfield to the receiver who was now ten yards behind the defense...

Even taking into account that it was a season-opener against Cougar High, Hurts showed enough that worries me about the RRS. Texas had better LEARN to TACKLE in the next month...some of the poor habits that have carried over from seasons past were still evident against La Tech and WON'T be good if they continue over the next several weeks.

In defense of the crew, they did continue to re-evaluate that opinion as the game went on, with the consensus by the end of the game being that there might be some improvement but that it seemed like maybe the UH offense just needed a bit more time to warm up to Holgerson's offense.

Admittedly, UH looked like crap in the first quarter and it was easy to attribute to the defense given how UH typically plays on both sides of the ball across the past several seasons (Army debacle not withstanding). Their struggles got even more lost the way Hurts was lighting them up. But, with no turnovers, the announcers were largely off of the Blow-U defense being all-world this year by the time the game was ending.

Oh good Lord. In my haste to smack a sooner, I misread the posts. I thought you were arguing that he wasn't in the system for three years.

My God, I may never live this down. How humiliating.
