Having been at two of the games and watched the manager killing grass with all of his travels to and from the mound, something to keep in mind with Tampa is that they have an entire pitching roster that is built around analytics and pitching to just a few batters.Hows is Rays bullpen so deep but the Astros bullpen so weak?
Last night, for example, they burned one of the five trips that was NOT a pitching change AFTER Tucker was announced as a PH. THEN, after he gets into the box, the manager comes out and they make a pitching change. The guy that got replaced through to something like ONE batter.
They don't have pitchers with an assigned role like closer...the opener from Tuesday actually came in somewhere around the 6th or 7th inning last night.
In short, they don't really HAVE starters...save for Morton (who I wish we could have kept).
At least none of our pitchers seem to be tipping pitches like Glasnow did last night.
