Horns vs KSU

Did I hear correctly during the game last night that Texas just had the toughest six game stretch in college basketball this season? Some of the commentary here lately would suggest they went 0-6. It was 3-3

Anytime a team can go 3/19 from 3 and still win I'll take it. This team is just hot and cold. Hot against WV, cold against cooger high and KSU. So who knows, maybe next game they'll be hot again.

Year two.
My mistake. Seems like longer. Anyhow he’s played in, and started, 64 games at this point. That’s saying a lot because I guess there’s no one better. Despite the hard red light from pretty much anywhere beyond 10-12’. And hey it’s ok not to be great from three. From personal experience I used to be terrible from three, but I worked on it for about a year and now I’m pretty good. But really like anything in sports- either you’ve got it or you don’t. And I’ll never be as good as soon other local gym guys. So people can improve but you don’t take a naturally poor shooter and make him a good college - or even pro - shooter. So his ceiling is what it is.

Since I'm typically the "doom and gloom" guy around here, a team that can't put together 2 consecutive wins for over a month might as well go 0-6 over a 6-game stretch, because at least that way it promotes change. Hovering in mediocrity is going to be RT's death knell. I'm hoping for a record of 2-3 between now and the conference tournament, which should tell people something about the state of Texas basketball.

The Big 12 is a meat grinder. Texas has two more losses than Kansas & Baylor and is 4 games out of first place deep into the conference schedule. Kansas has also lost to Kansas St, UCF & West Virginia. Baylor has lost to TCU. All the teams Texas has lost to have beaten one or more teams sitting in the top 3 in the standings. Texas plays Houston and Baylor twice and Kansas once on the road and was probably given a more difficult if not most difficult schedule in the conference. There is some perspective to be had here if you are paying attention to Big 12 conference play this season

No one expects them to win any of the remaining road games, so they should just go in to those places and play loose (in a good way), take their shot and let the chips fall where they may. If they get one of those road games and the two games at home, they should be in at least as a 10 seed. Don't want to be an 8-9 seed.

I look at it this way - with Kansas seeming vulnerable for almost the first time in about 20 yrs has there ever been a better time to win the Big 12? And we’re 6-7 in conference.

Is Kansas vulnerable for the 1st time in about 20 years because the conference is deeper than its been at any point in that time? Houston will be a 1 seed and hasn't even been in our conference until this year. BYU isn't a slouch either.

At least we didn't crap the bed against Miss St.
