Horns v ttu

Horns hitting threes, and ttu working it inside. We need to stay hot.

We need Sims for the last 4 minutes. He could be the difference.

Ramey has done nothing tonight. Steps over the endline on inbounds play after we go down 5. ZERO points and 1 assist.

57-56 us. 7:10 to go. Let's see who's the better coach.
If ttu stays within 5 points of the Horns then Beard has bettered Shaka in the Coaching end of it.
The Horns are clearly more athletic, talented and experienced. They should win the game based on talent, athleticism and experience.

Surprised we got cunningham in for such critical minutes down the stretch. Message to Ramey. 66-65 Tech with 49.3 left.

Sims was great down the wire. Coleman's experience and grit won the game for the Horns.

A street fight, and the Horns won it.

Congrats Horns on a very hard fought win.

Exactly. Shaka gave Beard a coaching clinic late in the half. Maybe if Beard asks real nice, Shaka might even mentor him.
Just like closing out the Firat half, Shaka again gives Beard a coaching clinic on how to close out a game!

Shaka flat out out-coached Beard. Just as we expected. Sure am glad we have the better of the two coaches.

Horns next play KU. DOMINATED them in 2 previous games... can they do it one more time to get to final in the the tourney?

Ok. Tech played us within 5 so by your measure Beard outcoached us. I'll take the W. There were some things I really liked about what Shaka did. He sent a clear message to Brown and Ramey. I will be interested to see how those 2 respond. He managed Sims well with 4 fouls with over 10 left to play and Sims was big down the stretch. I questioned why Cunningham was in late but he made a key steal late in the game. We got big minutes in the 2nd half from Hamm and Cunningham and I think they were unsung heroes of this game. Huge 3's from Febres and ice cold freebies at the end from Coleman. Hook Em!

Beard, with players who are not near the same talent or athletic level has won two of three and lost by one.
If Beard coached our players the games would be lopsided wins for the Horns. How many turnovers did we have? How many more loose balls did ttu get. Ttu dominated their offensive boards even though our front line is by far the most athletic in the B12. I love our players.

Shaka is a middle of the pack B12 coach. Self, Drew, Beard and Huggins are the top coaches in the B12.

Shaka is a very good recruiter and deserves a lot of credit for putting this terrific bunch together. I hope he takes them all the way. They have the talent to make it to the final four.

Last time we have to play him at Tech. He'll bolt for Indiana and try and create some Hoosiers magic.

I have to say I was actually surprised by your comments. I know you are a big time Horn fan, but judging a coach by a victory margin is a bit ludicrous. You do know that Tech was actually favored to win this game. Dude there is reason they call this “March Madness “! And that was on perfect display in day two of the Big XII tournament. And as a fellow Horn fan I was ecstatic that the Horns were one of the four winners. How long has it been since we have been able to winter our Horns dance with the big boys of the conference. Hopefully this ride will last a couple of more days and even longer during the big dance. Hook em!:bevo:

Tech was favored because they have better coaching. Turnovers: Texas 20-Tech 13. Fouls: Texas 18-Tech 12. When does Texas EVER win in the "coaching" stats column??

I am overjoyed about the win. I love this team. I think they have the talent to go deep in March Madness. :hookem::hookem:
