Horns v. Cincy

At this rate, we're basically just playing spoiler to tournament teams. I'm not sure I see Cincy as one of them. Their only impressive win was BYU. A loss here would be kind of "ho-hum" because Cincy hasn't lost at home, but a win wouldn't necessarily save the season or be seen as must-win.

Anyone listening to the Longhorn broadcast with Craig Way? Eddie Oren sounds drunk.

Don’t under sell this win, every Big 12 game this year is going to be an absolute slug fest just like night and every road game in the Big 12 is going to be an absurdly hostile environment. Texas is stepping up in competition when it goes to the SEC in football but in basketball, it’s absolutely a step down from the Big 12.

And that's before the Big 12 adds Arizona.

Kansas
Arizona
UH
Cincinnati

Abmas got away with that travel before the final shot. Did a little hop before the outlet pass back. Disu was tough on both ends. It was great to have him handle all of the "big" minutes with Shedrick out.

Cincy's bench absolutely outplayed us when they were in. That big guy (Reynolds?) should have been used way more on offense than all of those missed shots from their guards.

I'm confused about how we're using Brock this year. He seemed to be in the zone last season when he was the glue guy on D and the specialist on offense, but his production is limited. I don't think RT is giving him the free rein like Beard did.

Beard has been gone over a year and RT coached most of the season and all of the conference schedule. Your comment about Cunningham makes zero sense in your haste to take a swipe at RT.

What changes did RT implement to our offensive system after 12/12/2022? Cunningham was used in the way that complemented what we had been doing, and RT knew better than to mess with it.

But with vastly different personnel this year, Brock hasn't been able to find a groove.

In the 2 games I have seen, Brock seems out of sorts or not being implemented properly.

Much needed win by the Horns. I didn’t get to see it and there are limited highlights but I am encouraged by Disu providing the mid range scoring that is needed. Hopefully he and Shedrick can work a high low game that could be difficult to defend. As for the Cunningham situation, my opinion is that his highest value is an energy guy off the bench. He has been a starter out of necessity with Disu being out and Shedrick out a couple of games. I would like to see Disu and Shedrick start with Cunningham the first front court player off the bench. Just my 2 cents opinion which is surely worth less than that.

In the immortal words of Clint Eastwood, "a mans got to know his limitations".
