Horns-Raiders Game Thread

I don’t see a road game that you can say the horns will win. Okie st. May put 77 on this team. We’ll show up for the land thieves and probably lose in the fourth again.

With the way the offense played and was called in the first half, we should have score 50. There are just too many damn weapons over there to go into a clam shell in 2nd half. You saw the play calling in first half right? It’s amazing. Of course the inability of Card to complete a deep ball and the unexplained phenomenon of every team to complete them against us is nuts. When has a defense ever allowed 6 4th down conversions and so many 3rd and longs?? Bijan fumbling after we made the great effort to come back…. Well. Man. Frustrating to watch my dudes.

Bama and tech last min. losses?

@WV looms....

Fortunately, Neers suck, but that may have little bearing on the game in Morganhole next Sat.

I think the OL play should not be a surprise. We were horrible last year and were hoping the recruits could plug some holes. Well, they're what? 18 - 19 years old? It's gonna' take time. Again.

Trust the process?
You would like to see consistent improvement rather than a nearly complete regression in one half.

Pretty pathetic. I guess we can’t blame wokeness no more, just bad football by better athletes. Tech had half the talent but wanted it twice as much.
Even Tech tried to be Tech and crap the bed but we crapped it worse. This isn’t a good Tech team at all, but Texas was unmotivated to play.

Defense struggles and Sark goes into most conservative caller ever. We need Quinn. Our ability to get to the QB and then not get sacks is offensive. Have to pick my jaw off the floor at how many times a QB gets away from us. 100 freaking plays
Our ability to rush the passer and penetrate to the qb’s depth is ok. We over shoot him and he’s free to scramble up field. This is on coaching.

Makes me want to throw my drink every time. Those sacks are game changing and instead the QB has extra time or runs for a first and continuously extends drives.

Sorry, people, today was a group effort. This was the closest I've seen to the1979 A&M game, and that hurt worse than any loss I've sat through. Three weeks later, I was Christmas shopping and ran into RC and another Aggie defensive coach (BALL HS HC at one time).

1) The offense let the D down, by leaving them on the field all afternoon. Part of that is definitely on the play calling, which was atrocious. We were out of position more often than the fat lady in the circus. The spy was an excellent idea if you have someone disciplined enough to do their job. Lots of stupidity to go around.

2) The defense definitely let the offense down. Their primary job is to stop the opponent and get the O back the ball in decent field position. Of course, the defense can counter with "what does it matter where you got it, you did nothing with it".

3) Injuries hurt, but this was Texas Tech, where the highlight of the game is the Masked Rider on that gorgeous horse. Look at recruiting stats; our third team should be able to beat Tech.

4) Yes, they outplayed us in every aspect of the game unless stupidity is "an aspect". How many players on Tech's roster could break our two deep?

Perhaps the only group from Austin that did their job is the water girls that take water out to the officials during timeouts.

Now everyone knows that we don't trust our QBs to throw over the middle nor our WRs to run routes over the middle. We don't trust our DBs to play bump n run (see Alabama game where we did so but have since abandoned it). When Ewers comes back, maybe we'll see that again. Card can make the throws, but do YOU trust him to make the throws and/or the reads?

For me, this season now rides on October 8 - show up, get coached up, play hard & smart, and give Venables a proper welcome to how hateful OU fans can be.

I don''t give a **** now. Just like last year I'll be fishing saturdays except for the TCU game as I already bought tickets. I'm 62 years old and too old to waste time watching this sorry piece of crap. I just don't care anymore.
. There are better things to do than this. I'd be fishing today but it's too damn hot. Call me a ****** fan, I don't care. I got 15-20 years left and maybe 10-15 of my body being able to go to the lake. Every year I get excited thinking this is the year we'll finally break out. Never happens.

Right there with you.

Replace "fishing" with golf and we're on the same page. Only way sark gets any enthusiasm back is if we beat ou. Lose to ou and our crowds will resemble the late 80s. No enthusiasm and very quiet

Worthy was out the second half. Whittington was doubled most of the time and our other receivers could not get separation quickly enough for Card to have time to hit them. Two freshmen on the O line will do that.
Not getting Bijon and Kielan swinging into the flats and/or over the middle where a linebacker is forced into coverage is mind boggling.
