Horns at South Carolina

We’re favored by 2.5 in Columbia.

One of the 5 remaining conference games we need to win.

South Carolina is bottom of conference without a single conference win. Let’s not let them get their first one tonight.

So far in the first half it’s playground basketball 101.
And of course Texas is making
South Carolina look like they’re better than their record.
10-16/0-13
Might as well not watch until the 2nd half.

Earlier today, I watched most of Tennessee & aTm. Really a good game between two "well coached" teams. (I know foreign concept that I'm not used to & tonight ain't changing that.)

I have bitched & complained about football officials but the Aggie/Vol game may have been the worst I've seen in decades. If we ever do get good, I hope the officiating gets good at the same time.

Exactly Sabre!

I will say this, however, that was good basketball between Aggie and fake UT.... meanwhile Texas is a fing mess..... and there is this beauty....

84-69 loss.

First win of the year for Gamecocks.

I’m torn on whether to root for this team to win out or lose out.

This is exactly what I expected. Terry has no clue how to build any type of consistency. If the stars are align we win, if not this is what happens. This might be his Kansas loss that seals the deal.

SC knew exactly what to do and that was be physical.

Kaluma was never a "banger" until this year, and he's not very good at it.

Shedrick gets muscled around like no other.

Mark has never recovered from whatever ailed him in the offseason and he's just a shell of himself from the past few seasons.

Really disappointed that Larry hasn't become the PG he was at ISU, but I guess that's the difference between midmajors and the SEC.

Johnson is obviously one-and-done, and it'll be open season on the HC spot. That said, I just don't think anyone would want this gig after what we did to Barnes and Smart.

Well, there's the $$$; then there's the visibility; then there's the $$$; not the pressure of the football or baseball coach; recruiting advantages; the $$$; limited expectations; and lastly the MONEY

I disagree. Beard had this program going in the right direction. There are other very good coaches out there who could come here and turn it around.

It would take coaching. And some NIL$$ . But it could be done and should be done.

I was at my daughter's volleyball tourney and she was in an evening pool so I didn't see a second of the game and stopped checking my phone for updates by halftime. This was as close to a must-win as Texas could have of its last five and as much as the Kentucky win might have taken Texas off life support this loss puts them back on it and the crash cart is being wheeled into the room. If Texas wins its last four it will be in but that loss last night and the just complete failure to show up doesn't provide much hope that suddenly Texas will flip a switch and go on that kind of streak. This team just isn't consistent and can't seem to put any kind of extended run of consistent play together game over game together. It's not enough to show up against UK or have one incredible half against aggy; a tournament team has runs of several games of strong consistent play and this team hasn't shown that all year long. Very disappointing. :brickwall:

I guess I my 2 cents is why anyone is even discussing this. rt has never had any ability to be a head coach and never will. Some people were meant to be chiefs and some were meant to be indians. Beard left us in a proverbial **** hole with his SNAFU and rt is the result. I watched a little of several games yesterday and as I scrolled, it pained me to see tt ranked, atm ranked, ole miss ranked, etc. Texas has zero offensive scheme other than 1 on 1 street ball and it doesnt work against teams with a coach. If this didnt seal rt's fate, nothing will.

You know what is coming if you watched CdC's interview with Burton. A big name - like Drew or Hurley.

More than likely we’ll be looking at a completely different roster next season including the Head Coach.
CDC and RT will have to negotiate the buyout or keep Terry on in some capacity. That is unless he heads out on his own.
Please hire a coach that will bring several players with him, especially a strong Big Man that can play on both ends of the floor. How many years have we needed that? Too many.
Enough is enough!

I don't get why all the vitriol for SOB. Can't both coaches suck? Why can't he say Beard was unimpressive?

Because the two programs are going in the exact opposite directions. Last year we had a final 4 caliber team, but this year we are headed towards the conference cellar. Ole Miss has been historically a sub .500 team and in year two they are ranked. Yeah, they will have some hiccups along the way, but they are headed up. Who can't see that?

Ole Miss is 4-6 in their last 10, but two of those 4 are against us and that Kentucky team we were so proud to beat.

I'm guessing we go 2-2 in our last four leaving us at 18-13 overall and 7-11 in league play in the bottom quarter of the conference. Yay team! That's the Texas standard.
