I recently ate their chicken and dumplings, with fried okra on the side, and really enjoyed it. That said, I thought it was a little pricey, esp. for lunch.

I had the meatloaf two days ago.

It was too spicy.

I've enjoyed it there on a previous occasion, but it was different this time.

Their CFS and fried catfish have been other good choices for me in the past, but both are available and better elsewhere.

My wife likes the veggies, but there are closer and less expensive restaurants than Hoover's for us to get what we enjoy.

There's a new Hoover's opening by the corner of 183 and Anderson Mill, where the Shoney's used to be a few years back.

I used to always go to Threadgill's thinking "this is gonna be great." More of a wish. It's usually subpar.

It seems almost blasphemous to order a burger at Hoover's, but give it a try sometime. I also recommend the jerk chicken, chicken and dumplings, and charbroiled catfish.

i just gave Hoovers another try. went with the meatloaf, taters, and mac and cheese. also went with the peach cobbler al la mode...pretty ******* good. phil_h and alxhrn goined and also enjoyed.

hoovers is bad-***. their CFS is the best in town. anyone been to dots? i went there about 5 years ago and i prefer hoovers. the hoovers' jerk chicken and corn bread are great too.

111, what locations have they opened? north and in alamo heights/SA?
