We're really stretching firsts with "First Openly-Queer Afro-Latina Oscar Winner." Maybe I'll be the first Oscar winner under six feet tall born south of the Mason-Dixon line with an odd numbered birth year yet even birth month who grew up in Houston.

Makes me wonder if it was staged. A punch would take Rock out but a slap doesn't even have Rock retaliate. Got people actually talking about the Oscars...

Yep, and it's a screwed up view of marital honor. If Chris Rock had banged Jada, Smith would have been cool with it. If Chris Rock tells a joke about her hair, he gets physical.

That movie’s opening weekend box office was $5million. Prior to the Oscars, it’s WW box office was $38 million. Nobody but the Academy watched it. Now with all the hoopla, it might make back it’s $50 mil budget ($40 million to Smith). He made a stink when he didn’t win an Oscar for his last movie. I think he’s got Hollywood scared he’ll sick BLM on them if they don’t kowtow.

Will Smith is a wuss. A real man would have done like Andrew Jackson did when a man insulted his wife: Jackson challenged him to a duel, took his fire, sustaining a wound to the chest and then calmly and deliberately shot the guy dead. Some were offended but Jackson was subsequently elected president twice.
 
Of course, if you're white and had a problem with the slap, it's because of racism. Link.

What I find kinda ironic is that if Will Smith had been white, the outrage against him would have been 10,000 times worse. He would have been called a racist. We'd hear how it was reminiscent of white men feeling like they had to protect white women from the predations of black men back in the day. There'd be calls to charge him with a hate crime, and in Los Angeles, there's a good chance it would happen. Not only would his career be over, his personal liberty would be in real danger. I don't think Chris Rock would take that approach. In fact, I think he'd condemn it, but the Twitter/pop culture definitely would.
 
I admit when I read Chris said Jada was going to star in G.I.. Jane 2 I thought there was going to be a remake
I need to read the tabloid headlines at the grocery store
 
Ha, that reaction is nothing compared to the explosive reaction by Faith Hill when Swift won the CMT (or was it Grammy) award over her. It was classic.
