Hold Me Closer, Tony Danza.

This thread is a revelation. My whole life I thought it was wrapped up like a douche.

Used to work w/ a Hispanic woman who was pissed at lunch one day when she thought she heard:"If the world had a front porch, like we did back then.
We's still have our problems, but we'd all be friends.
Treatin' your neighbor like he's your Mex-i-caaan
"

When I was little, I always thought "Big ol' jet airliner" (Steve Miller) was "Big ol' jet in the lineup," and that "Jet" must be a tall baseball player's nickname or something.

I also thought "Stop in the name of love" was "Shop in my neighborhood" and that it was a really long radio commercial or something. I never learned any of the other words, so I never knew (or cared) what the commercial was for.

Eric Claptons, "Forever Man"

Wont you be my poor little woman,
I'll try to be your poor little man...

Shoot the children with no shoes on their feet.

i think any song by Bush could have some mistaken lyrics.

A guy I knew thought that Pearl Jam's song "Glorified G" went like this:

"Glorified version of a PELICAN" insead of "pellet gun".

He went on a long rant about how Pearl Jam was trying to bring attention to pelican's being hunted to extinction or some ****.

We just let him keep believing it.

My older brother told me that the Tina Turner song, What's Love Got to Do with It" wen't like this...

Oh oh oh
What's love
Gas a jew
Gas a jew

I asked him what that meant, he told me, I wen't to my Mom and told her what he told me, and then he got grounded for like 2 weeks.

A friend of mine told me that he was a big Jimi Hendrix fan and that his favorite song was "Angel". I like that song too. Later he popped in a CD of Hendrix and played "Hey Joe". He had though Jimi was singing the words "Angel, where you goin with that gun in your hand" for over 20 years.

For a while I thought:
Your real daddy was dyin', sorry you didn't see him, but I'm playin' guitar

Oh I, oh, I'm still alive

Alanis Morisette - You Oughta Know:

It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross-eyed bear that you gave to me

Born in the U.S.A. -- "I'm a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A.!"
I always thought Bruce was getting away with-
"I'm a long dong Daddy in the U.S.A!"
Motley Crue- Use it or Lose it. "JFK, Marilyn Monroe.
Street-walkin' gypsy, Margaret Trudeau."
I thought Vince Neil was singing, "JFK, Marilyn Monroe.
Street-walkin' gypsy, Mocassin Joe."
For the life of me I could never find out who Mocassin Joe was.

Bon Jovi's Livin on a prayer-
Take my hand, we're naked I swear
and
You've got to hold on to what you've got,
it doesn't make a difference if your naked or not

That, and Clint Black's--
You'll find me waitin' when my **** comes in

i'll never be convinced that it's not

"wrapped up like a douche, another roamer in the night"

he ******* says "douche." i know what the lyric is SUPPOSED to be, but he says "douche."

Manfred Mann's Earth Band does clearly pronounce the word "douche" every time in their version, even though the printed lyrics are "revved up like a deuce".

In Springsteen's original version ("cut loose like a deuce"), he pronounces it deuce.

Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue
Actual: We split up on a dark sad night both agreein' it was best
I heard: We split up on the docks that night both agreein' it was best

Bob Dylan - Jokerman
Actual: Half-asleep 'neath the stars, with a small dog lickin' your face
I heard: Half-asleep 'neath the stars, with a small dark look in your face

The Band - Wheel's On Fire
Actual: Notify your next of kin, this wheel shall explode
I heard: Notify the next-door kid, Israel shall explode

In Tightrope by SRV, when he says "heart full of darkness" I always thought it sounds like he's saying "hot poodle of darkness".
