He's Not Doing a Very Good Job

Man I thought this thread was going to be based on a link with a quote from a reputable or reliable source. But just another anti-Obama rant. Just another day around here.

I am not sure how anyone could think he is doing a good job with virtually any aspect of his position. Excluding the things he inherited like the economy. He has bungled the reaction to this oil spill, has not made any attempt whatsoever to curb the spending as promised, made not one attempt to lower the deficit as promised, shoved through a completely useless HRC bill the public did not want, and does not satisfy any of his criteria of lowering cost, and covering everyone. Even those people with preexisting conditions are **** out of luck still. There are 4 million of those, and they only budgeted for 200k. None of those things can be blamed on anyone but Obama. How about his policy of no lobbyists? That is on him. His pledge to not raise taxes on anyone under 250k? That is on him. HIs pledge to be open and honest? That is on him. His grand delusions about the stimulus package? Failure. The only things that seem to have worked decently woudl be TARP which was a statutory program in place before he got into office, and Iraq which again he has stayed the course handed to him.

There is a pattern here. A couple persons, in this case the OP and Lone Star, have a fairly reasoned discussion whilst others (sometimes including me) take shots at one another. Then, somewhere in there, Husker chimes in with how hopeful he is for the Republicans in the next election. You can set your watch to this stuff.

It seems that a lot of folks will equate the "blame game" with leading and even with doing a good job.

Well- his approval ratings are fairly ok in the high 40's, and he's out raising all of the Republicans combined and just set a record for campaign donations.

Meanwhile- the GOP deck is floundering with Newt, Michele- and led by Romney- who is not exactly generating excitement or any donations.

He seems off to a good start to win a second term.

Pretty much what I said. Our standards for a "good job" are unfortunately extremely low.

Still think he's better than his predecessor and the candidate he ran against. He wasn't my first choice, he was the best of the choices available. I still don't see much to like about the alternatives likely to run against him.

We're a country in trouble, no doubt. The problems are more with our institutions of elective government than a single elected official. All are complicit.

This is the first job Obama has ever had where he was a leader and expected to actually implement working policy and be judged by the results. Obviously, his ideas have been utter failures.
I actually do feel bad for the guy. He seems frustrated and confused. Just cannot understand why nothing he has tried is working. All that he has left is denial and blame storming.

The Architectural firm where my wife works is staffed at 1/3 the level before Obama took office. They do Healthcare design and buildings with that industry having been decimated since Bush left for many reasons but primarily the clusterfuck that Obamacare has thrust up the poop shoot of the entire industry.

Still there is great uncertaintly on wtf is going to happen. With great uncertaintly comes great grips on monies for expansion. Why spend when you don't know what the rules will be in 2012? 2013? much less 2015 or later.

Obama, or actually I blame Pelosi and Reid, destroyed the healthcare building industry and millions of associated firms and businesses that support it.

Unintended consequences of idealistic fantasy decisions are very real in the case I describe above. McCain would have been the safer choice by far. I said it then and still to this day think it would be been much better with him.

At least with Romney there will be some semblance of monetary fiscal policy even though he has his dastardly Massachussetts roots. Hopefully the country doesn't default before the election.
