Herman 'Back of the Bus' Cain

Sorry that all you have that BO RODE the back of Rosa Parks alot more than Herman Cain. Dude you are so weak you need to go to Wall Street!!!

How about you tell us about George Washington Carver?

If it is so obvious, then focus on his politics. Not what you think about his civil rights legacy.

While you may have read the title of this thread, you have yet to back and read the first sentence of this thread.

Just because you either cannot see, or don't wish to discuss, the GOPs relative reluctance to embrace blacks who were active in the civil rights era (and conversely their penchant for favoring those blacks who, like Cain, chose not to help their movement) doesn't mean that others cannot see.

This is what this thread is about. You don't have to post in it.

You won't even take the time to read up on the different ways blacks supported the civil rights movement.

Really, and since you don't seem to understand that this thread is about Herman Cain and not the black body politic writ large, please telll me all about Mr. Cain's "contribution" to the civil rights fight.

Besides him showing familial obedience to do nothing, that is.

The GOP would embrace any person, of any race, at any time that holds the same beliefs as Herman Cain.

That's like saying Christianity teaches that Jesus loves everyone. As long as "everyone" is Christian, that is.

Don't waste your time. Facts mean nothing to some people

HermanCain was 9 years old when Rosa Parks refused to sit in the back of the bus.
Further he went to Morehead college so AA didn't play a part in his getting into school. He also went to Purdue for a graduate degree. probably no AA there either.

After that he did what many successful Americans do, worked his butt off.

Lefties hate anyone black who succeeds on their own.

I liked what robert Johnson< founder of BET said as he scolded Obama. Johnson doesn't feel guilty about being successful and he advised Obama that the way to win support was not to denigrate those who became wealthy enough to fly their own jets if they wanted to.

How many jobs have people like Cain and Johnson created compared to the community organizer.
Johnson btw was an Obama supporter

To my knowledge, the GOP has not turned down the support of any person (regardless of race) because of involvement in the Civil Rights movement. I would bet you have no evidence for your accusation. Civil Rights is socially accepted by both sides as a positive move towards equality. Even the staunchest leaders of Civil Rights opposition have come out to say they were wrong (Strom Thurman). Things can change over time - you know we're talking about the abolitionist party of Lincoln?

Your goal is ad hominem attacks on people who would actually agree with many of the things you stand for. I'll bet Cain is ashamed of his lack of participation (judging from his reaction). I'm sure you were perfect in college, so you may not be able to empathize with his position. Cain went to an all black college, so Civil Rights was probably a concern of everyone. The guy was a math nerd - they don't tend to be politically active.

Perham1, if you can go back 50 years I can go back at least 200.

But lets get to the real meaing of your post, you see Cain continues to prosper and confidently attacks socialism, and if it continues he will be President.

Brother and Herman are reinforcing a popular stereotype that achieving "success" and hard work is uncommon among the coloreds.
Don't believe their hype.

Obama and the Democrats have to be licking their lips at the prospect of Cain being the Republican nominee.

i doubt that, most polls have any republican beating obama. his handling of any pressing domestic issue has scared the crap of his own people.

Name, thanks. You made my point for me.

From "back of the bus" to "symbolic crack pipe", Cain is confused.

Brother Cornell (West) once again hits it out of the park:

The GOP candidate claimed that his business and academic achievements were "walking proof " that racial discrimination doesn't hold people back.

His remarks backed up a similar complaint he made on Sunday's 'Face The Nation'.

"I don't believe racism in this country today holds anybody back in a big way," he had said.

The former Goldfather's Pizza CEO l has taken heat for those remarks. Princeton professor Cornel West told CNN on Sunday that Cain "should get off the symbolic crack pipe" if he doesn't believe racism affects people.

It's funny, and a sign that Brother Herman is not too bright, when he argues that because he (Herman) made it that means racial discrimination doesn't hold anybody back. No Herm, that means it didn't hold you back. You can't apply this to everybody.

Cornell West is a joke. As someone with many friends and acquaintances in many corporate HR departments, his statement has to be one of the most ignorant and false statements I have heard in a long time.
