Hegarty update

Of course, the best qb can do nothing without at least adequate protection, no one would argue that football is a one-man game (well, maybe the very casual observers would).

I guess there are a couple of examples of good-great O-Lines without a very good QB, both out of the SEC (Bama last year and LSU 2007, but they were possibly the weakest national champion ever). Bama's line wasn't really great, they were just so good at run blocking that is made up for their abysmal pass protection.

I think it had more to do with college football being extremely watered down both years. Hell the last truly complete team (passing offense/rushing offense/passing defense/rushing defense/ST) was none other than UT 2005-2006.

well, well. inside texas is saying: 'Matt Hegarty will soon be paying the Texas coaches another visit.'

if we're having him in to give him the bad news, that's the epitome of letting a guy down easy, don't you think. dang decent, i say.

hmm . . . maybe we can take hegarty for granite.

and westerman for diorite, greenlea for travertine, flowers for basalt, and . . . well, you get the picture.

the rock on which a great offense is built.

Interesting news...and if he wants to commit, I'd love to see us take him. Championship teams are built on championship lines, on both sides of the ball, and I'd love to see us load up with one more stud o-lineman. Hegarty has to know he'd look great in burnt orange.

agree, o cool one. i gotta hope for him to come in.

can't you see him and the others making schist of our opponents?

signing Hegarty be a boulder move, our whole signing day could unergo a metamorphosis, not that we were sedimentary.

Imagine my surprise upon trying to mine this site for more recruiting nuggets from you fossiliferous fans, when instead I find a meteoric bunch of comenditeians dishing out real pumicement. I'll just chalk it up to experience and iron out my feelings later. You get a hornblende of everything around here.

Anybody have any concrete news on whether or not Hegarty will commit to the good guys? I could see him helping to pave the way for our running game for years...and nope, I'm not stoned.
