heckuva speech, Trumpy

I think National Review has it right. Link. January 6 was terrible, but it's overblown. Furthermore, the rank exploitation of it to force election law changes (that actually centralize power and make a real coup easier to pull off) is nauseating.

The comparisons today from liberals and the media. Embarrassing how stupid they think Americans are and how gullible their sheep are.

Huisache, please change title of thread to, “Heckuva press conference, Biden”:

Remember he was there to protest an unfair election with his fellow Americans. Prosecutor wanted lengthy a prison sentence for merely trespassing.

Man who pleaded guilty to entering Capitol on Jan. 6 dies by suicide

Trump and his band of liars have more culpability for this mans suicide than any prosecutor.

To get to the Capitol Building he walked past broken barricades. He was a witness to vandalism to our Capitol Building, maybe assaults on the police and still felt it a good idea to enter the Capitol Building. My sympathy for his plight is equal to a BLM protester that was dumb enough to enter a looted store but not take anything yet still het charged. In those cases they are adults that know they are not lawfully allowed to be there.

In other coup news, the Jan 6th panel released some interesting interviews to support their subpeona for John Eastman's email. We all remember John Eastman, right? He was a mid-level DOJ Lawyer carrying Trump's water, advocating for a coup. Or, as Greg Jacob (Pence's counsel) called him "a serpent in the ear of the President of the United States." It was his idea for Pence to simply deny receiving the electoral votes from States Trump needed to win to defeat Biden.

Court documents reveal Pence team's exasperation with Trump

Jacob recounts two meetings with Eastman, one on Jan. 4 and another on Jan. 5, where the Trump attorney outlined a number of scenarios, including having Pence declare Trump the winner or reject state electors as a way to kick the matter back to the states.

“He was quite clear in saying, ‘I've heard you loud and clear. You're not going to do that,’” Jacobs said of a plan to have Pence back Trump. “Would you now consider this?

“I was surprised that we instead had a stark ask to just reject electors.”

Jacobs said Eastman seemed to think that would be the preferred route to addressing public blowback.

“He thought that it was more politically palatable. I don't think that he ever termed that in terms of more palatable to the Vice President ... my impression was he was thinking more acceptance of the country of the action taken,” he said.

And what % of this was the doings of the FBI?

We'll see. This particular Oath Keeper's plea deal is dependent on his cooperation. Seditious Conspiracy carries a maximum of 20 years in prison so that was certainly weighed when this gentleman agreed to the plea deal.

Still waiting for you to explain how these folks would have taken over the country. I know its difficult to make up myths that big, but I'm sure you can give it the old "Russian Collusion" effort.
