H-E-B or Randalls?

HEB is definitely much better than Randall's for prices and selection, but you have to take advantage of the beer specials at Randalls. That is the only reason to go into the Randalls.

publix is a great chain. privately held just like h-e-b and they do about 3 times the volume. innovation wise it is hard to compare with h-e-b in the grocery business.

I can't stand the lines/people at HEB. I go to Randalls for the convenience--if I have the time its Central Market first, Whole Foods second, never HEB.

HEB.... More of em, and cheaper. I used to work at Randalls on Bee Caves, and it was pricy. I must admit the only plus to working in Westlake was the fact that most of the chics were barbi dolls. And the mothers who came in were hot too. I even saw a few grannies that were pretty nice too. Having money to burn on plastic surgery or day spas or really good fitness programs really pays off, but there were alot of high and mighty people too. HEB suits me just fine.

ya i was a manager at bee caves randalls six months last year, it was nice, but when it came down to it i was happy to get transfered, to quit dealing with those folks. it was great to see all the longhorn greats, like cactus pryor, david mcwilliams, james street, and deloss dodds, andsandra bullock on a daily basis, but the glamour wears off after awhile.

Randall's was the only grocery my family every used growing up. That was in Houston. I've always thought the Austin stores sucked, and now that they're owned by Safeway the whole chain sucks(except for maybe a few Tom Thumbs in Dallas). Whoever said they could charge more when they were cleaner, friendlier, etc. is exactly right, that was the reason to shop at a Randall's. I love the Albertson's in Westlake, but I'm not in college anymore so the high prices don't bother me. The other Albertson's in Austin I've been to all sucked. I hate HEB now that I don't need party pizzas & .25 burritos at 3 in the morning.
