H-E-B or Randalls?

That is an easy one. I have to say that Randall's sucks. I can never find what I am looking for at that store. Everytime I have been there I have filled up the cart half way only to find that they do not have some other thing that I need so I get so mad and just leave. They are more expensive and their beer and wine selection is crap.

Got to say that the HEB on Far West or Red River are the best. CO-EDS!!!

Scandalls is the devil. I can't count how many times I have walked out of the one by my house cursing them and then cursing HEB for not putting a store in between me and work.

Randalls sucks more than anything has ever sucked before! I have been there and literally left my cart with stuff in it because I couldn't stand their prices or what they had to offer. HEB for better or worse is the best grocery store in central Texas. **** Randalls, Albertsons, Kroegers, and all the other pretenders. Oh, Central Market is not a real grocery store in my opinion. Although I like it, any store that does not offer coke, or Tombstone pizza is not a true grocery store.

Call me retarded, but where the hell is there a Kroger in Austin?

I sure haven't seen one...but maybe I'm sheltered or something.

H-E-B hands down. Although, I do go to Randall's occasionally because it is right across the street. Best one has gotta be HEB Hancock, worst one is HEB Riverside...reminds me of Rainbow Foods in El Paso. A real hole.

Fiesta.

The only options by my house were Randalls and Albertson's but I preferred Albertson's to Randall's. There has never been an HEB anywhere near me so I've only been to one other than Central Market once.

Butt. H.E. Butt that is...HEB. The jingle at the end of their commercials is catchy too. I worked at a Super S in high school. They were in smaller towns in parts of Central Texas. Those stores sucked. Dirty, poorly run, etc... But I did carry groceries for Red Adair and he gave me a twenty spot!

I ******* hate Randall's and all of their ******** with the special prices only for that damn card. I also believe that it's against TABC regs to offer specials on beer to some people but not to others, which they do with that card. HEB is way better and Albertson's a distant second. Albertsons' prices are only good when they do a special, but at least you don't have to get a stupid card to get it! My office is right by an Albertson's, so I end up going there all the time.

You know you don't have to do anything other than asking for a Randall's card to get one right? It's not some exclusive club. You ask for a card, they hand you one.

HEB hands down, started and owned by Texans. The lowest prices around and customer service that puts the others to shame.

God bless the blond hottie I saw yesterday at the Far West HEB. God bless her, her tight pants, and her supremely shapely rack.

I used to work at the Randalls corp office and it was a fine place until Safeway bought it from the Onstead's. Now the stores are dirty, staff is minimal, and prices are higher than everyone except Albertson's. They could get away with higher prices when they offered a cleaner store, better produce, and great service. Safeway is now running the place into the ground. They do indeed suck. Do not be surprised to see Safeway sell off the Randalls/Tom Thumb chain in the next few years. Won't be surprised if HEB buys some of the TT in Dallas. Houston and Austin Randalls are screwed.

I worked at Randall's in high school.
It sucked then and it's worse now.

I love my HEB's, but I wish they weren't so damn crowded.

One of the best matches of HEB vs. Randalls takes place on west Braker and research. They're literally across the street from one another and the Randall's parking lot is virtually deserted while there are lines in HEB

Many times the Hancock HEB is eye candy fest. Isn't the grocery supposed to be a great place to pick up more than just your groceries? I recall them having singles stores in Cali way back where you could get drinks and such. It was geared towards meeting other horny folk who like doing it food style.

Laundry mats too.

HEB + Central Market blowes everyone outta the water...

Plus HEB gives a ton back to the community.

We (meaning my wife usually) do most of the shopping at Central Market. Other than that, I hate HEB. I have never been to any HEB where there weren't long lines and a lot of unopened lanes. While the wife was pregnant, I had to go to the Hancock pharmacy around 3:00 am and had to wait about thirty minutes because it was so crowded. Ridiculous.

I worked at the Far West HEB as an undergrad and I must say, HEB is one of the best employers I have ever had. They even give all of their employees biyearly bonuses. The last one was an unexpected $50 bill in your paycheck envelope. I'll admit, I go way out of my way to only shop at the HEB.

The HEB at Hancock is what a grocery store should be. They have all the normal crap you want & then if you want to go granola (I'm a veggetarian) they have it all. Include a damn fine beer section & coeds, and you have a recipe for greatness. Honestly, Fiesta is probably my second fav if only because it has a wide selection of bizarre ethnic food. Plus you can buy those super cool tie-dye jesus shirts in the parking lot.
