Gun nuts' hero zimmerman arrested

Sooooo, a jury deliberated and decided that there was no evidence to charge him with a crime, and he's a cold-blooded murderer? Oh, and he's every gun owners' hero?

This is an excellent example of why you and your liberal illogic are a continual source of comic relief and mockery on this site. I bet having an honest bone in your body would be tougher to find than Hoffa's body.

There are probably 10,000 domestic violence police calls across the country daily. I wonder why R35 thought it was so important to slander a man found innocent of charges completely unrelated. He must be making a case to become the grand poobah to overturn decisions as he sees fit

Most people that followed the case thought zim was an idiot but not a murderer. He continues to prove those people right with his idiocy. Still doesn't mean he murdered trayvon.

Doesn't mean he's anyone's hero, either. He was shown to be justified once, doesn't mean it will be again. But truth and logic has never bothered ole Rog.

The prob w R35 is there are people who think just like that in local, state and national positions. Heck, even the admin. I'll lump in MSM as well. Comic relief on the internet is one thing. Trashing our constitution and therefor our country is a whole other ballgame.

R35 and his racial hatred of whites and Hispanics doesn't care for your benefit of being considered innocent in the eyes of the court. As well as anyone not a boot-licking, knobslobbing Obamanite.
However, I do appreciate his talent for making incensed, incoherent and wholly illogical straw men arguments on anyone resembling conservative, white or pro-2nd Amendment supporters. This board can always use comic relief like he brings

R35 is just thrilled that he can bring up crap, since he has been MIA about the Obamacare debacle. I'm surprised that he hadn't brought up the Mayor of Toronto. Anything to divert attention from the Obama administration. Life is hard when you have no independent thoughts.

HHDad, Paso's comment isn't out of the norm for him.

He is probably the kind of person that, instead of admitting that his favorite team lost, that his team beat themselves and just simply didn't win. Semantics are like numbers for some people- can be bent to shine the light wherever they need it to divert from the truth.

The American system of justice does not prove people innocent. It only finds them guilty or not guilty. It also has a very difficult burden of proof for the state to overcome. This is, on the whole, a good thing.

A finding of not guilty is not a finding of innocent.Trayvon Martin's parents (as with OJ) can and perhaps will sue Zimmerman for wrongful death in civil court where the burden is significantly lower. I think their chances of recovery are relatively high.

It is sort of a shame that we do not have the verdicts they have in the UK. In the UK, you have guilty, guilty but not proven, and innocent. I think guilty but not proven would fit both OJ and Zimmerman. It means the person gets to go free because the state did not meet its burden, but the jury thinks he did it.

Maybe you guys should take a criminal justice course or two at your community college. You would be a lot more informed.

I've been trying lawsuits, civil and criminal, for 36 years and Paso is correct. A not guilty verdict means the state has not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt, not that the accused is actually innocent.
I learned that in junior high civics; some people never do

From what I gathered, I would not want to spend five minutes with Zimmerman or the jerk he shot. Both were guilty of extremely bad judgment. Neither was guilty of a criminal offense and the kid should still be alive.

As for the domestic violence charge, I see these all the time. Typically, the woman exaggerates at the outset, tries to get the guy out within a week and then often perjures herself to free him a few weeks later.

Let us wait until we get Zimmerman's version and see what her final story is before we jump to conclusions.

My political orientation is not wildly different from 35's but I agree his posts border on the idiotic. Maybe he is just young and will grow out of it.

Huisache - You seem like the type of person in which you can have an intelligent political conversation. I can understand having a point of view and being passionate about it but the fanaticism gets a little tiring. Ole Rog just likes to get under people's skin, I'll bet he's really an ultra conservative religious rightwinger and he just teasing everybody with his comments.. .

My comment for Paso was unnecessary and mis-directed.
I got sidetracked from the crux of the thread, which should justly be the constant buffoonery of R35. I wasn't intending to poo poo Paso' s legal knowledge. But making GZ akin to OJ is baseless

I'm no attorney, although I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.

There doesn't seem to be many facts on this latest arrest, just a she said, he said.
The first thought is Zimmerman seems to have a history of abusive behavior toward the women in his life but again it is a she said he said.
At the very least he could probably benefit from some decision counseling and maybe anger management counseling
. maybe the women could as well

Wow,,,the term "gun nuts" has awakened this much reactionary vitriol from our resident TP/bagger crowd?! The term sure hit home then!

I wish we all had the time like the do-nothing, lazy TP crowd, as I was comparing the responses of the reactionary right on texags, and our resident john birchers, last night. The striking difference was -- the texags rabid rw'ers are actually a bit more SANE than the TP'ers on hornfans!! I should find some time later this evening, and I'll do a 'compare/contrast' post on these two extreme, reactionary groups, that are emblematic of the post-Obama (read: post- 'the other') period in our country.

paso is correct. What's also correct is his innocence/guilt has absolutely nothing to do with whether he is/was considered a "hero" or whether he did or did not commit violence in this case. It also has nothing to do with him being "emboldened", since he was having issues with domestic squabbles before any of the Treyvon stuff ever came to light.

BTW, I'm starting to think roger35 has an "insult macro", where he just hits F12 and a corresponding pejorative is inserted into his sentence - regardless of whether it's appropriate, redundant, provoked or otherwise applicable.

This is once again a predictably idiotic thread with no purpose other than to name-call and divide.

R35....The "TP" crowd is what is paying for your food stamps.

I know very few people that don't have a gun and they are not nuts. Most are ready to protect their family if the need arises. The police will more than likely not be there in time to save you and might shoot you instead of the bad guys. Roger35 try to talk down a gun wielding criminal that will probably work. I have already had to point my gun at a crazed man beating on my door. I called the police it took them 15 minutes to get to my home because the streets were flooded. The man was still on the porch when they got there and he was wanted. I sleep a lot better with a gun at my disposel. Of course I am labled a nut by a nut without a gun.
